It's big misconception among non-hockey fans and people... that Wayne Gretzky was a high scoring machine.

Yes, he did score a lot, but he racked up a lot of his career points from assists. For those who don't know, you get two points for each goal and one point for each assist. He was a big time playmaker. The thing with Alex Ovechkin is that he's a scoring machine too, but he can get shutdown, and he's less of a playmaker.

That's cool but no need to revise history and current events to do so though. Nobody forgot about Wade's previous greatness or denies his current abilities. It just so happens he has a teammate who is even better and he hasn't been consistently at his best or consistently healthy since then.

Announcers are infamous for that..see players like rose and westbrook when in reality we know they would not fair that good in the dunk contest because even tho they are explosive we have way better dunkers in the league than them capable of greater feats.
