I had the same thought that it was like SW. Like one of the prequels where they'd keep cutting to people talking about the exact same shyt that goes on forever.

As almost everyone has said, the first hour can go. Its surprising that it made it to theaters without some execs or the filmmakers picking up on that very obvious fact. The story is ridiculous but that wouldn't matter much if the pacing / length was better.

I was satisfied overall because the submarine and plane chase scenes are really fantastic. I only saw a few of these films but I want to see the others now if this is one of the weaker ones.
They spent all the money on the two scenes that they could have just made the previous film 4 hours long instead of doing this shyt.

I seen it today it was good. not the greatest mission impossible movie tho... I felt like the entity could have caused more havoc around the world than just launching nukes... it should have shown that it was more dangerous by paying assassins to use the rogue nation idea which was a neat call back. :patrice: also a few plot holes here and there which i don't wanna spoil...
first there was a part where gabriel told the new gril to ask what happened to his ex wife... but i was like... bruh she's alive...:skip:ethan faked her death you clown. :mjlol: some spy you are. second ok if the entity was actually the rabits foot the entire time. how did it even escape in the first place from the containment shell and actively get into russian database in the first place cause that's where the source code was being used right??? and lastly why didnt all the nuclear countries take their nukes OFFLINE in the first place, matter of fact why didnt the U.S. take the nukes offline to prevent the entity from getting control, wouldn't that have been the smart thing to do in the first place? if the countries knew a super smartAI was on the loose the first thing to do would be to take the nukes analog Also why tf was luther so damned sick???:wtf:...

this was easily the most ridiculous movie i've seen since Fast X...the mission was 1000% impossible lmao
I laughed out loud during that part.
They spent 10 mins telling us the dangers of being that depth with the suit on! Only for him to take it off and float to the surface. Also for the world to be ending in a week they literally touched different spots on the globe in record time. To get from the Artic circle to the top of Africa in that timeframe is crazy

This was just decent, meh, ok. The movie was entirely too long, the first hour was bad and overloaded with exposition, the script is half baked. After two films the 'entity' and Gabriel are still poor characters. I give this a 6.

This was not better than Dead Reckoning.

So long Luther :mjcry: (why did Ethan not find a bike or scooter or something to get to Luther, dude just had to run :mjlol: )

The submarine scene was tense but damn the amount of suspension of disbelief that is needed is immense

The final plane stunts were dope and hilarious, Ethan was rocking jaws and breaking arms at altitude :heh:

Gabriel was talking cash shyt only to get smoked by the rudder :laff:

Gabriel was essentially a evil mustache twirling villain and very one dimensional. It was hilarious how he went out though

Yea that whole AI entity plot was clearly a rip off Ghost and shell and they made it overly confusing.

I still don’t know why the “KEY” was so integral to the story other than looking like a Cross :youngsabo:

The religious undertones to the story was kinda forced as well
The key was needed to get the AI source code from the sub. Without it the sonar housing self destructs

To your last point, no one’s lowering guns in a Mexican standoff

Once you slog through first hour of different scenes all mashed together the movie stays action packed till the end. 7/10

Agree with many of the points made the film being dragged by exposition and a bland villain. Really felt the weight of those 2+ hours and not in a good way.
My buddy went to see this last week and said that it was just OK. I then said that I would have to watch the last one because I didn't see that one either but he told me I might as well not bother because they spend the first half of this movie trying to explain everything. Is that true?
