Yes sir, what has me so optimistic is the Stars depth. Janmark is a future star. We're going to need a Hatcher/Ludwig type of bruiser
down the line tho. #trustinnill
We have Jamie Oleksiak and Patrick Nemeth in the minors brewing. They both have a LOT of Hatcher in them.
Oleksiak is 6'7, 250lbs and Nemeth is 6'3, 230lbs :mjlol:

The thing about this team that's different from 99 is that the guy who sets the tone, plays physical, and intimidates the opponent on this team is a Forward. We used to need guys like Hatcher and Matvichuk to protect our finesse guys like Modano, Lehtinen, Nieuwendyk, and Hull.

Nah, not anymore.

I think the idea/need of enforcers is almost dead though breh

Hawks have won 3 titles now without needing it, or really fukking with all that old school bullshyt

Yea, you need 4 complete lines to win in today's NHL, 4th line needs to be productive especially in the playoffs

Yeah
Teams how care more about the David backes type forwards

Or a Chris Neil type who can play 15 min a night

Days of some 0 goal 5 assist 250pm forward is ovee

I agree that enforcers aren't very productive and the game no longer allows you to play them heavy minutes.

But skilled scorers still need protection. Toews, Kane, Sharp, and Hossa definitely benefitted from playing with that blue line. Those boys made sure no opposing teams would try any fukkery with their top offensive guys.

Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook sittin in the cut praying somebody tries to take a run or slashes Toews

:ohlawd:

They are both amazing defenseman, they're not plugs simply put in to goon it up. But you need physical play(ers) to protect your finesse offensive guys. We don't have anybody like that on the blue line other than Oduya, who we just got this offseason.

Eakin Seguin Spezza Hemsky are all food out there. Make no mistake, Stars are mostly green, terry cloth boys on the ice. Benn is that dude who keeps other players from trying to send a message against our boys.

It's very rare to see a guy with that kind of offensive prowess and ability to be the identity and physical force of a team. Reminds me of Forsberg and Lindros. He's a 80s-90s throwback type of Power Forward.

SMH these buffalo fakkits always play us tough. Buffalo/Montreal games are close in play and in score, but most of them its the sabres who come ahead with the win in a frustrating fashion. Some of the most bitter, tightest losses the Habs have had in recent memory, were arguably in the hands of the fukking Sabres :mjcry: I'm glad they will suck this year once again:pacspit: I'm also glad the Dallas Stars sonned you in 1999 in the cup finals @Codeine Fiend Dream Team @dtownreppin214

Still, I think by saturday's end the Habs will remain perfect 9-0-0 :myman:..it would be nice to see the Habs destroy the record of 10 straight wins to begin a season, established by both the 2006-07 sabres and the 1993-94 maple leafs. 15-0-0 would be :wow: :win: :banderas: status.

I've always hated those Friday night road games in Buffalo(and New Jersey too). The Sabres used to be exciting to watch 10 years ago, but lately they've been  status(hopefully that changes with Eichel and Kane). I'm gonna be mostly watching the Jays game tonight and maybe some of that Raptors/Wizards game since it's at the Bell Centre.

:umad: Cup contender this year breh

Leafs fans are lucky that the Jays are very good this year, Jays are your saving grace until early November. Jays prevented a lot of suicide in Leaf Nation this fall :mjlol: Keep taking these Ls Laffs fans :mjlol:

It's so sad that no matter what the Jays or Raptors do, they'll always be stuck behind that garbage hockey team. :scust:
