Pretty Toney is about 3.5 mics imo - 4 mics can be argued….4.5 mics is stretching it.

i give it 4.25. but the in-between mics dont exist, which is why i say 4-4.5. you're entitled to your opinion, and i do think there are a few cuts on that album i would consider 3.5 or average. but i would almost give pretty toney 4 off RUN alone: one of the most simple but batshyt-creative ideas in hip hop history, on top of a Top 5 post-WTF rza beat. and the funny thing is, that's never the song i'm looking for when i go back to that album.

"scared to death, running like i got bears on me
my timbs start feeling like they nike airs on me"

cmonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn bruh. a 3.5??? :russ:

I blindly bought the pre order vinyl of this bc I knew Hav and Al would come through for P. It’s dope hearing Hav and Als beats next to each other again, it’s like the audio version of Deniro and Pacino in heat. It’s scary how alive prodigy sounds on every song. Favorite joint so far is mobb with noyd, only joint I’d cut off of here is we the real thing. I like down for you more with her more than jorja, think her tone fits the song bette, But hey we got options with that one

And see thats the thing right there - you just mentioned ‘Run’ as the highlight of the album (which it absolutely is - although Holla, Biscuits are top tier as well).

The initial conversation was that Ghost doesn’t need RZA oversight or involvement to create a dope album - I agree that he can still put together something that’s entertaining enough but the RZA tracks like Maxine, Stroke of Death, Buck 50 just have that ‘Je ne se quoi’ that the other tracks don’t have. Even the Wu-Block album that Ghost did with Sheek - this track shyts on everything on that project and it didn’t even make the cut loool

There’s a lot of imitators to RZA’s style but outside of the Wu-Elements, no one comes close as they all just are imitating it at a surface level. The only one that really comes close when he does that style is ALC.

Where The Grass Is Blue
Personally, this album is a classic

Objectively, I'd give 4.5 out of 5...only knock being Jorja Smith and H.E.R. singing over the same beat was kinda lazy, could've just made them 2 different songs:manny:

Other than that I love everything about this album, from the features to the bars and most importantly...these mf beats:whew:

RZA and Hav been my number 1 and 2 producers forever but after this album...I got to switch that around...maybe even put RZA at 3 and Alchemist at 2:francis:

Favorite joints: Look At Me, Discontinued, My Era, Gunfire, and The M.O.B.B

Agree with this. Pour the Henny with p’s verse at the end would’ve been fire as the closer

Yea I could see them not wanting to end the album on such a potentially depressing manner. I actually think Against The World could have worked as a closer as much as it works as an intro. P saying “See you on the other side” as the last words heard on the album would’ve been crazy.

  6. Down For You (feat. Nas & Jorja Smith) (prod. Havoc)
  7. Taj Mahal (prod. Alchemist)
  8. Mr Magik (prod. Havoc)
  9. Score Points (prod. Alchemist)
  10. My Era (prod. Alchemist)
  11. Pour The Henny (feat. Nas) (prod. Havoc)

  14. Love The Way (Down For You Part 2) (feat. Nas, Kool G Rap, & H.E.R.) (prod. Havoc)
  15. We The Real Thing (prod. Havoc)

My only let down is I wish Big Twin was on here, and out of 3 Nas features I was hoping one would be on ALC. These credits look fire though.

At least we got Noyd lol…

Havoc and Al

Album sounds smooth.

P’s vocals sounds like he was in a recording from Heaven

Yep would’ve been good to close with Pour The Henny.

I’m fukking with We The Real Thing though….different energy to a lot of the other joints so it would’ve been a good tempo change mid-album - should’ve came after Taj Mahal or something
