as he should. one of the greatest producers in the history of the culture, one of the best MCs... multiple classics... and they never got a nom? that's malpractice.
IMO same reason why Hav was just saying MTV didn't want to play their stuff even in the G-Unit era, and 50 had to sneak them onto TRL.

They're just too street and too gritty for mainstream white culture.

i hear you. and MTV i get, because they always played it conservative. but the grammys? dont hand out awards if you dont know how to evaluate the artists properly. that's always been the issue with the grammys.

I have both. Assuming you need them?

Do you need both discs of the 2014 album and the Cocaine EP?

Yeah bro would be awesome if you have them, just the main disc and Black Cocaine would be unreal. I've been running through the discography again over the past 2 weeks and want to finish with them.

Grammys are highly political and, in the rap categories, have traditionally awarded the biggest selling artists over the more critically acclaimed ones. A lot of this changed after 2014 when Macklemore beat out Kendrick Lamar for Best Rap Album. People were INCENSED and it led to more artists and producers joining the Recording Academy as voters.

I still don't understand how and why people shytted on "outta control remix". That may be one of Dre's best beats in the last 20 years.
The internet. I was coming up (not at clubs) that shyt got played HEAVY in the estates here. Random, during Mobbs G-unit run, how was the reception to them in real time?

no doubt. i actually have a friend who was an A&R for one of the major labels. he walked me through how much politics play a role in both nominations and the winners back in the day. pre-macklemore. shyt was honestly eye opening, disgusting, and informative... all at once.
