good writers know how to step out of their comfort zonesSo it's not black excellence if it's gay or has women, shoutout to Insecure
nikka you spew gay shyt half the time on here.Nah real men just don't fukk with that gay shyt. Especially black men.
It's a good movie but it's overrated and the move felt incomplete.Have to see it, might be a legit movie. Just cause its about gay shyt don't mean its some bullshyt. nikkas need some culture in your lives............

Him being homosexual wasn't that much of a core issue though. He would have still been bullied because he was quiet, timid, weak, etc. How did they know ol dude was homosexual anyways? And spoiler alert!: Why did they make his friend bisexual? That shyt ain't make no sense. And the main character had only one sexual experience in his life, and it was with his bestfriend when they were teens. It’s incredible. Visually, just, remarkable. It’s crazy how well this movie was shot. The child and teen actors are great, and Naomi Harris is incredibly good. Movie is powerful from beginning to end, and I bet any of the people complaining about the main character being gay have not only not seen it, but would be blown away to know that his being gay has no bearing on how any of the adults treat him in the movie.
You can have a corny, try-hard story about what it’s like to be “black” like Dope or Dear White People, or a movie like Moonlight that is so genuinely and truthfully black it doesn’t even have to try. It doesn’t try to speak for a people as a whole, or explain black culture to those unfamiliar with it, it just is. It’s just the heartbreaking story of one particular kid from one particular poor neighborhood in Miami.
