You can find articles/studies to support any claim. The following website states that in Norway, the number one country on that Happiest country list, 50% of Norweigeins will suffer from depression at some point in their life.

Depression hits half the population

:manny:

This isn't a binary case. Of course I'm not saying these places don't have any depressed people.

Nikka, these are all western first world countries, you acting like these places are populated by aliens.

NONE of them is America. This country is unique.

You stated that atheism causes depression.

Atheism doesn't allow one to use his/her mind to infer ANYTHING with inductive reasoning.....and you're proving it.

Read more Hume.

May not be depending upon how many of them responded to the survey and whether those who responded were telling the truth.

For all we know, 90% of those surveyed were atheists/non-religious or just lying for fun.

I have been happier than I ever was over the past 6 months but I can relate to this article because I used to feel the same way.

More people should go pescatarian or vegetarian and exercise everyday and do what makes them happy.

There are a lot of things to be bummed about, especially if you're the type of person to be constantly looking toward the future (or even worse, stuck in the past). It's tough, but you gotta remain positive and find out how to live your best life in Babylon while hopefully not having a net negative effect on the world. A lot of trial and error. I can sympathize with being a misanthrop and nihilistic, but can't relate to actual depression or major depressive disorder. I dunno what that's about. Doing nice things for other people, exercising and eating half-way decent, and not keeping your head buried in a screen watching other people's lives can really go a long way. That much I do know. Life is too "loud" , being bombarded non stop with information, (bad) news, cultural psy-ops, and other people's opinions or other people's highlight reels... it's all noise. If you do things to turn the volume down you'll be much happier. At least that's what has worked for me. That, plus creative and physical outlets, keep me afloat.

It's interesting and inspiring to go to places like the DR or other countries where they don't have as much as us and watch how genuinely happy everyone is. there's a lot to learn from that, but at the same time that level of appreciation for basic life and being alive in general doesn't really mesh well with american society and babylon in general

ignorance is bliss too, to a large degree. if you're 18-35 just head over to reddit.com/r/lostgeneration and read some of the top posts... it will have the most blissfully positive Secret-quoting person in the world start looking like :mjcry: in no-time
I don't like how people trash religion even though the ultimate purpose is to become a better person. The problem is with human beings themselves instead of the religion

  • I don't date. Haven't dated in a long time.
  • I make damn near six figures and it still isn't enough to live comfortably on my own in Nyc.
Other than that, I don't have much to complain about.
