the dude even says that the always online thing was something only fanboys believed, then proceeds to plug paul thurrot as an authority worth listening to when he was the highest profile person also pushing this rumor.

And knowing MS, why would they put in the 360 SOC in the base console reducing your profit margin when you could charge users for it like it was mentioned in the 360 mini being required for BC rumor last week.

While BC is nice to have, it is overrated as far as games are concerned. I got rid of my ps2 slim only for credit from rapestop when I did my ps3 reservation. The ps2 slim wasn't even that big or an eyesore in my entertainment center. God of War 2 and Madden for the first month or so along with nfl 2k5 were the only ps2 games that got burn from me in my launch ps3. I still have some ps2 games that my wife plays (Namco museum). But that's it.

I don't know which rumors are true, false, or just misrepresentations of the truth. But I do know this rumor makes more sense from a business standpoint than the " Internet connection required for gaming" one

Neogaf. VGleaks. Edge. Eurogamer and everyone's favorite Kotaku are the main ones with next gen shyt.

Neogaf can be VERY strict and Nazi-ish, but they do have cred and have good insight. Lots of developers and shyt have accounts and post there.

But they are VERY strict on fukkery.

Yeah, I'm kinda riding on Thurrott and VGLeaks to be honest. They have the most cred from what I've seen so far. Paul has had MS insider information for YEARS, so he has credibility. VGLeaks got the scoop on both systems board setups.

I'm waiting on that system image leak. Production should be starting soon or has started already started and someone is gonna leak a picture.

I'm confused. People acting like its a bad thing to people able to take the batteries out of their cable remote to play the game. Its practical.

Or ghetto. Charge kits are the only way to go, no replacing batteries (or recharging them if they are those type) just plug and play you can even recharge while gaming so even if the batts die you can continue gaming. Now those kits are $20 so given that, that tech should have become standard with the following gen controller.

Then they said a connection wasn't required. They dropped the Xbox mini rumors which are a direct contradiction of the rumor we are discussing now. I don't know who to believe.

I still think those documents released by superdae are the only real information. And all these rumors since have been "insiders" interpreting those documents as they see fit.

Yeah. that's what I meant with VGLeaks as far as their documention on the hardware specs. The rest of their shyt has been conflicting now along with everyone else.

The VGLeaks hardware specs and Thurrott seem to be the only reliable information so far. I think the Windows 8 integration was a given, so that's not really a "leak".

You are not required to be connected to the internet in order to play Durango games and MS were NEVER considering doing such a thing.

All I know, and all I need to know about this new change is that I (or a game dev) can use the 360 SOC in parallel with the original Durango hardware.What does this mean in basic terms? Well, apart from Durango having 100% BC with the 360, it also increases Durango's processing power a fair amount.

Controller: - The controller is pretty much the same. The D-Pad has been improved, but the change will only be noticeable when actually using it, i.e. it looks exactly the same
