gave him a sense of rhythm and flow.
right
I think Rakim said something about this as well having grown up in a jazz background it somehow influenced the way he rhymed.
This has nothing to do with Nas lyrical/pen game
his flow not his actual way on understanding how to use the english language
No. None of those things have anything to do with being articulate or even basic literacy. If that were the case, there would be many more articulate rappers; more Einstein's; more Nikolai Tesla's... but there isn't... because you can't be influenced to be smart or articulate. You can be influenced by a smart man/woman and work harder to become smarter or more articulate, but you can't just become smart or articulate.gave him a sense of rhythm and flow.
I hate how dudes in here talking like they were there with Nas in spirit from his birth until now. You don't know what influenced dude, wah di ras is up with all of your mumbling.
Music is influential in all ways. If you think music can get somebody to start selling dope or kill somebody, you don't think it can't influence how someone thinks or writes or feels?
So we gonna act like flow isn't an aspect of rap? Without a flow you can't rap. Again stop tryna move goal posts brejThis has nothing to do with Nas lyrical/pen game

Not true its due to your influences as well. Okay so you denounce lucky lefty and some of the dons because they got caught? That's stupid. Anybody can get caught when you deal with that many people. Frank Lucas got caught wtf you on about. Boston George got caught. I should put hands on youNo. None of those things have anything to do with being articulate or even basic literacy. Any old fool can be influenced by someone to perform an action (killing/selling drugs). It doesn't take skill to commit a crime, it takes skill to get away with one.
Plus, the way you're speaking on influence is two completely different ball games. We're in here talking about forms of expression. Killing/selling drugs by choice and being intelligent/articulate are not comparable forms of influence by any means... they don't come from the same place.

Q-Tip helping Havoc tighten his shyt up on Infamous, listen to the demos and originals online some are on The Infamous 20th Anniversary Album.
Prodigy was actually the first one to get behind the sampler in the Juvenile Hell days and teach Havoc, Havoc used to ghostwrite for Prodigy before he ramped up.
I'll go with Nas, but Hav flipping the Shook Ones sample and Survival of the Fittest and making shyt like Trife Life is not to be underestimated even with help.![]()
