Mos Def vs Andre 3000 who is a better rapper

i forgot how hard new york shyt gets dikk rode on this site. even mos def has admitted that dre was so far ahead of everybody.

Andre 3000 for me. While I like Mos Def, he hasn't been great since Black On Both Sides and while that album is great, the best verses on it aren't better than Andre's best. Outside of lyrics, the only thing Mos has in his favor is delivery.

to now?.....he don't even do shyt "now".....bottomline, andre doesn't have a body of work on the level of BOBS. mos carried an entire album by himself and killed every single verse. andre is still too scared to drop a solo rap album cause he knows he can't live up to the expectations. mos didn't just drop a great solo album, he dropped a classic. that alone is more impressive than anything andre has done. the title is who is a better rapper, not who has been more "consistent".....and mos is a better rapper when they are at their best. it aint that hard to stay consistent when you drop one verse every 5 years.

wow, i'm a fan of the both of these guys but i gotta roll wit 3 stacks

now while he's never had a straight up solo "rap" album (since the love below was mostly singin') his verses on southernplaya, atliens, aquemini and stankonia are just so damn brilliant. not to say mos' raps aren't because they are but andre impressed me far more as an mc and rapper

Imma go wit Mos. And here's the reason. Mos has shown his greatness as an emcee in a group setting and in a solo setting. Andre has only the group shyt to really back him up. And this wasn't no Prodigy and Havoc situation where one emcee was far superior than the other. Big Boi was very important to Outkast as a lyricist. Andre doesn't even have a collection of 10 solo rap songs. Pure spittin wise. Andre is more witty and sometimes even poetic. Mos Def lyrically is just a problem at his peak tho. Both also do the singing thing. Umi Says >>>>> any Andre singing song aside from Prototype imo.

thread ain't about who dropped a classic solo, it's about the better MC, and Dre will rap circles around Mos from 94 til Infinity...

Dre for consistency
Dre for killing any and everybody he hop on a track wit
Dre for story tell'n
And keep in mind for all those knocking Dre for no solo projects big boi ain't no slouch but he gets out shined by 3k on tracks

Bk native
Lyrical freestyle monster
The both sing and rap
But that back down from mos is still too fresh I my mind

I'll say mos seems more versatile. Where as 3 stacks will flow the same at times over whatever beat

I think it's like comparing the winner consistently of a three point contest over someone who's playing the game

Most solo ventures and Dre's many features

But at this present time 3stacks to me mind is sharper than mos

exactly lol at mos def having a prime his first two solo albums and his album with blackstarr and that's it andre 3000 been killing it since his first album with outkast so most definitely andre ben imo.
