It's kind of annoying at one point how both these dudes preferred to sing over rapping, even though both could kill a verse at the drop of a hat (not saying they're bad singers).

I'ma go with Mos, some of his verses on BOBS and Black Star are just :wow:

Great thread :salute:

This is difficult choice

Dre for consistency
Dre for killing any and everybody he hop on a track wit
Dre for story tell'n
And keep in mind for all those knocking Dre for no solo projects big boi ain't no slouch but he gets out shined by 3k on tracks

Mos is a beast
Bk native
Lyrical freestyle monster
The both sing and rap
But that back down from mos is still too fresh I my mind :scust:

I'll say mos seems more versatile. Where as 3 stacks will flow the same at times over whatever beat

I think it's like comparing the winner consistently of a three point contest over someone who's playing the game

Most solo ventures and Dre's many features

But at this present time 3stacks to me mind is sharper than mos

In the words of another great BK mc "had a spark when you started now you just :patrice:"

Nowhere
mos off this verse

on the corner units charmed out, ghetto lookin bombed out
police wait at the road for those who walk the wrong route
shortys goin all out, they got they swords drawn out
ready to brawl out, gettin full til they fall out
black like Moorhouse, 40 o's is tossed out
for brothers that they mourn bout, get red til its dawn out
whether they broke or flossed out, honeys pass they drawers out
lookin for a ticket out the poor house
a jungle out here, lions keep they claws out, fangs and jaws out
weak just get forced out, names is called out
ghetto fame is sought out, you wanna be the man that they talk bout
I WALKED OUT
i had some things on my mind to sort out
i thought bout the wild circumstance we born out
remember myself at your age and i was just like you
if that was now i don't know what i would do
my ears is closest to me, so what i say to you is going for me
son we both still growing indeed
but where you at, i was and where you been, i left
utilize my experience to guide ya step
some people get love but don't command respect
it's something that you can't buy with a check
or a rolly or lex, or icy links that hang from ya neck
if it's real who need to deal with the special effects?

Someone post their best two verses.

That'll help.
This isn't even Andre's best verse, and it's better than anything Mos wrote -

"Baby, did you hear that?" "Yeah, baby, I heard it too"
Look out the window, golly, the sky is electric blue
Mama Earth is dying and crying because of you
Raining cats and jackals, all shackles disintegrate to residue
Silly mortals haven't a clue as to what the fukk is going on
I'm on the telephone dialing the Dungeon ("Hello?")
This Dre, bring the MP and the SP
Meet me at the center of the Earth and travel carefully
Baby, grab the baby, cause baby, it ain't much time
Mama Earth is tossing and turning and that's a sign
Omega nikka I.F.Os are landing in Decatur
Hope I'm not over your head, but if so you will catch on later
Played the track, guess she could not take it anymo'
Raping her heavenly body like a ho, coochie so'
From nikkas constantly fukking her, never loving her
Never showing appreciation, busting nuts in her face when they done

:whew:

breh, that shyt is LIGHTWEIGHT compared to mos' best shyt. just look a few posts up....that little brother verse SLAUGHTERS that. that dre verse is some try hard shyt. the metaphor is understandable, but there's nothing great about it. earth is dying, we're treating her so bad...blah blah blah. any dope rapper could pull off that same concept....and MC's like lupe and elzhi coulda pulled it off much better. shyt, elzhi got at least 5 verses on his newest album better than that.

the thing with mos, he didn't have to do all that extra shyt to seem "deep", he just flat out killed it period. wordplay, flow, rhyme schemes.....mos is killin andre.

not even mos def's best and andre has nothing on this level. when you really read andre's shyt, it's just not that special. but you read mos' shyt and you're just like :wow:

2nd verse on mathematics

Yo, it's one universal law but two sides to every story
Three strikes and you be in for life, manditory
Four MC's murdered in the last four years
I ain't tryin to be the fifth one, the millenium is here
Yo it's 6 Million Ways to Die, from the seven deadly thrills
Eight-year olds gettin found with 9 mill's
It's 10 P.M., where your seeds at? What's the deal
He on the hill puffin krill to keep they belly filled
Light in the ass with heavy steel, sights on the pretty shyt in life
Young soldiers tryin to earn they next stripe
When the average minimum wage is $5.15
You best believe you gotta find a new ground to get cream
The white unemployment rate, is nearly more than triple for black
so frontliners got they gun in your back
Bubblin crack, jewel theft and robbery to combat poverty
and end up in the global jail economy
Stiffer stipulations attached to each sentence
Budget cutbacks but increased police presence
And even if you get out of prison still livin
join the other five million under state supervision
This is business, no faces just lines and statistics
from your phone, your zip code, to S-S-I digits
The system break man child and women into figures
Two columns for who is, and who ain't nikkaz
Numbers is hardly real and they never have feelings
but you push too hard, even numbers got limits
Why did one straw break the camel's back? Here's the secret:
the million other straws underneath it - it's all mathematics

:ohlawd:.....andre is not fukking with mos. period.

breh, that shyt is LIGHTWEIGHT compared to mos' best shyt. just look a few posts up....that little brother verse SLAUGHTERS that. that dre verse is some try hard shyt.
Dre is one of the most effortless storytellers that's ever ran through the game. There's nothing try hard about that verse at all - there's no overwrought references and no attempt at trying to needlessly fit extra shyt in the bars.
the metaphor is understandable, but there's nothing great about it. earth is dying, we're treating her so bad...blah blah blah.
First you say it's "some try hard shyt" now you say it's understandable. It actually paints a vivid picture on the verge of an apocalypse while balancing a strong, concise message (dude is a master at manipulating homophones and idioms), character, and just the right amount of depth without coming across as a chichi smart dumb nikka - something like say Lupe is completely incapable of.
only MC's like lupe and elzhi coulda pulled it off much better. shyt, elzhi got at least 5 verse on his newest album better than that.
I should've guessed it, you the type of nikka who saddles Lupe. :heh:

This is like comparing Zab judas prime years to Money Mayweathers entire career and can still get in the ring and do it at that level:francis:

Mos/ yasiin bey just can't :yeshrug:
And he knows it!

I'm playing diablos advocate here no knock to mos he a great MC. For flow technical rhym patterns delivery he's actually the closest thing to Big if you think about it:ohhh:

He's basically biggie as an agressive backpack rapper.

But you can't give the man the crown/ the belt if he step in the ring exhaust himself after one maybe two rounds and the other fighter fit and ready to go 12:yeshrug:

Talk about "one hot album every ten year average :scusthov:"

But even on cuts wit the God 3k won't be outdone :ahh:

Who's influenced the game more?

You know how many of your favorite rappers eatin off Dre's flow? From Kendrick to lil Wayne etc. etc. etc.

His impact is more universal.

Damit mis def can walk around Brooklyn and people wouldn't know who he was:mjlol:

But it's all love

actually I really don't fukk with lupe at all. only album I ever felt was his last one. but his rhyming skills can't be denied. musically, I think his albums are on some bizarre nerdy shyt....takes away from his messages. but his pen game is still one of the best of all time. and when I say it's understandable doesn't mean it's not "try hard".....yea we treat the world like shyt(fukk her and nut on her).....mother earth is "tossin and turnin"....oh I get it....cause the earth turns....how genius. it's a cool verse, but nothing to go crazy over. and definitely nowhere near mos def's best shyt. that's minor league stuff compared to mos at his best.
