It's all subjective really. To me there was too much of a monotone to Common at the beginning of his career. Dude definitely improved in that regard as his career progressed.

common was never monotone till one day it will all make sense.
Which is more because he started to front on o type star.

after he was an overly charismatic ed og and the bull dogs biter fan guy with more charisma starting out on, cibad.

common used to be like internet god status as an emcee till he sold out and got all weird.

in odiams is where he got lost in style delivery and later never ramped up his vocal tonality to where his wordsmithing was.

obfcl, was supposed to be the album everyone passed on out of the clan and was supposed to signal the jump.off point for listeners as a solo listen.
Turns out to be the third most important rap record damn near all time.
while, arguably the highest quality rap album made in history.
it certifiably is the best rap album all time with the longest track listing.

I guess I will have to do this timeline wise as it occurred in history to get this exactly right.

rappers generally made a TREMENDOUS jump in skill by their second album.
so, I guess I can eliminate most rappers cause they used to all do this.
so, that would eliminate guys like anyone from krs to melle, to even cube.
the excpetion would be the guys who made a leap and had could be legend status.
so, that would have to be the new school way of thought guys.
since mostly all new school acts were seasoned professionals.
if they were the main cog to their group who did most off the duties. Before the first business and skill revolution ushered in by the new school way of thought.
in the ol school it was toy fraud city as many group members were basically junior mafia status.
Taking up a slot by a more REAL SKILLED talented artist or group.
LIKE, fantasy three versus crash crew.
which signified pretty much why the conversion to the new school way of thought was needed to usher out the old business heinous sellout practices of sugar hill records.
Spawned by the stolen hit of sugarhill gang.
whose model is clung to by outdated toy business who violate the culture.
so, most of these names will be new school way of thought guys.

cam'ron : Rap's best upgraded talent historically. Went from offkey ghostface 36 chambers skill biter to biggie's offkey drag-on anemiac sounding protege vocally.
