Get Rich or Die Tryin. I think the album is garbage. I can't believe people think this is a classic. The thing with albums is that I'm usually very objective. Even if I don't agree, I can see why others would. With this album I just don't see it. This is not some timeless masterpiece you can play at anytime. I can understand the commercial success. I just didn't like this shiit. I'm probably in the minority who enjoys The Massacre more. Just more songs on that album I could fukk with

Imma go ahead and say usually anything that comes out from the whole Shady/Aftermath camp that's considered a classic.

I've never heard any tracks off that album played anywhere. Nobody talks about or plays that shyt today.

To this day, you can hear tracks off of All Eyez on Me, The Chronic, Doggystyle, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot, Aquemeni someplace or another. Outside of "It Ain't Hard To Tell", I don't think 95% of rap fans could tell you another track off that album.

So are you saying it isn't quality music?

Illmatic isn't a mainstream album & doesn't have the popularity of the albums you listed. Hopefully your basing your opinion on the music & not "oh these people aren't bumpin it."

CHICAGO
i used to cut up all my source mags and hang shyt in my room. i wish i had them all. i started copping in 1991 i believe when they had the year end wrapup cover with mad peoples faces. i remember chubb rock being a face.

I never cut out the magazines, as a shawty.
I usually drew athletes real big on Bristol.
or,..i had posters from sports illustrated for kids...
i could never piece on the walls,....
but, i could tag on the mirror, and oh boi did I......

then,.....my precious tag mirror broke......
i wonder still to this day,...if that seven years bad luck stuff is true.
i have broken hordes of mirrors cutting hair over the years....

anyway,....
i love posters and the marketing for shyt you could find posted in the streets back in the day on buildings.
plus, in Chicago back then you could find posters, and cut-outs and all that shyt, everywhere.
shyt,...i had the cta signs, and streets signs at one point in time, too.

all that shyt, is great to own.
i really think will the next generation keep the value of that stuff alive.
like how the pickers are on,...
or, will it continue in this nothing has any monetary value and is disposable era.
well everything, except OG JORDAN with no yellowing, if they exist.
like how that picker, and pawn shop comes on.
when in reality,...there are not many pawn shops anymore at all.
plus,......if you go to one,...only thing you will be able to sell is....
like, a brand new item,..that someone needs to off immediately, for a revenue grab, under retail.
other than that,.....pawn shops in Chicago,..not really popping like that in the ghetto.

anyway, when it came to posters.....

SPUD WEBB = my favorite from sports illustrated from kids.
THE AGASSI was legend from sports illustrated for kids.
THE JORDAN = god like from sports illustrated for kids and they were double sided and double folding out.
shyt's were so big.....
I had these ill slanted walls, in my huge ass room.
I hung my posters so they hung off the wall..like a floating painting.
took the shyt down when lil bro inherited sole ownership, of the room.

I had all the large fukkin performance flats, for all the shows i went to damn near at the AC club.
where they were used to cover the street lights....
i still got krs, wu-tang, i can remember off the top of my head.
many more, too.................

the person with the mad ill memorabilia of Chicago hiphop is:

MIKE TREECE
of mass hysteria

going to mike treece house was like going to the mike treece hip hop hall of fame.

:dwillhuh:Are you retarded?:what:Wtf does him dying have to do with it being a classic?:wtf:

retrospectively speaking, it has everything to do with it. if he was still alive he probably would have made a better one and this one would be forgotten. on the flip side, if he didn't die this first album wouldn't even have been created. it's sort of like paul maccartney and the beatles. hence the title, ready to die.

:dwillhuh::dwillhuh:,......

:what:
you should have got that one fox...
that you should not even bit on that shyt.
you are supposed to be smarter than that.

he was trying to imply,....rather sarcastically in a troll like manner.

that if biggie was so classic and honored.
why did he have to die,...
why was, the killer not swayed by who biggie was and not pull the trigger.
disobeying orders and risking life and limb to see the legacy of big poppa further in life, rather death.

nikka,..don't front like you ain't ask the universe,..

all dem why ass goof ass questions when your favorite rapper died, nikka.
you ain't that sckrong,...nikka.
