Ali had a bright future if they had put any effort into him. The guy was profiled on CBS evening news, WWE never tried to capitalize or do anything with that. Instead they shoved him into Retribution which was a dead end gimmick and let him rot. He was a natural babyface who should’ve had a permanent spot on TV and would’ve in any other era. Him leaving may not move a needle, but losing talent like him is endemic of a larger issue at play in WWE.

None of the guys that have said that have actually proven Vince was wrong lol. Wwe was right about all these bums.

AEW is barely pulling 1M viewers with CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole. All these Toni Storms and Mustafa Alis and whoever else they're cutting ain't gonna mean shyt if those first 3 names aren't making a big shift in ratings for AEW

Always with the ratings. :mjlol:

The E’s ratings been declining for over 2 decades. Their main shows only beat AEW by 600-700k. Their hardcore stans are keeping it afloat and refuse to even give other companies a chance.

Fact is Wrasslin in general doesn’t have the eyes like it used to. Y’all gotta stop with the ratings talk. Acting like y’all are network execs and know what’s good. :gucci:

That’s cap

Y’all nikkas so predictable when anyone gets released or asks for their release, if Roman Reigns asked for his released y’all would act like he wasn’t shyt either.

Meh…. Take away the brand name, the E not doing 1M either:yeshrug:

Y’all have a point when y’all say that “the E can lose practically anyone and still do what they do.” But it’s due to the brand.

If you was to swap out Impacts current roster with RAW/Smackdown current roster. But keep the same history and have Attitude era guys still promoted and show up. It would be the same

You know who the most successful #1 restaurant is?

It’s McDonald’s and the E is like McDonalds at this point, they #1 but the quality is far from the best

I haven't watched WWE in like maybe 2-3 years but I thought Ali was very promising when I saw him, good luck to the guy

I wonder if Tony might be interested in a Pakistani from Chicago that's ready to go in the ring and on the mic :youngsabo:

Ali should've left the minute he heard that "too clean, too nice, too polished, I don't know if you have it in you" speech, since that's Vince code for "I will never see money in you." Kofi got a version of that same speech a long time ago (pre-2009) and look at what's happened to him since: He'll get an upper card/main event push here and there, but he always ends up brutally beaten and recast as a midcard attraction.

If I were running AEW, I'd sign him and make room for his contract when the initial AEW deals expire. Even if he doesn't get past the midcard (and who knows in a world where Adam Cole's tiny, skinny fat ass is a main eventer), he'd be invaluable for their community outreach program, since Mark Henry and Shawn Dean seem pretty dedicated to getting into minority/underrperesented communities. He'd probably be great for that if he wants to go that route.
