Like it should have been

Kofi was a 11 year veteran

fukk ali

Dude is a weirdo... why is he asking for his release on Twitter .. ask them and of they grant it then post that long ass message... Vince is petty enough to hold this man in contract for being a bytch and crying to the internet instead of approaching him like a man

No one knows who the hell this guy is and he doesn’t draw a dime :yeshrug:

if he wants to go be a bingo hall hero or “Wrestler #37 under 5’8 in AEW” then go ahead :yeshrug:

AEW wrestlers really like 5'5 lmao. I was watching old clips on YouTube and a video with Booker T, Goldust and Christian came up and Christian is the shortest man in the scene. Meanwhile in AEW Christian is damn near the height of luchasaurus who they call a "big man"

If this was 2019, they would have tried forcing him to re-sign. But they want all the money they can get so they'll make this happen. :mjlol:

I'm pretty sure WWE had no plans for Daniel Bryan at that point and just went with KofiMania because of how well it was working. Had that not taken off, they probably would have had Bryan face Kevin Owens at WrestleMania or something. :mjlol:

Exactly... nikkas tryna rewrite history and make you believe Mustafa fukking Ali was gonna main event wrestlemania. The inherent racism is crazy "oh Kofi wouldn't have got that if so and so and such and such" "that was really Ali spot" yeah aight

This fukking thread. :mjlol:

First off, how you gonna try to call other people out on inherent racism while defending WWE booking? shyt don't make sense.

Secondly, I thought it was common knowledge that ultimately, it wasn't Ali's long term spot that Kofi took, but Kevin Owens'. Ali was supposed to be an early year filler program in between Styles and the WrestleMania challenger, who was supposed to be Owens. Kofi got over, and ended up getting the spot, while Owens and Ali got the throwaway title shot the PPV before WrestleMania, and then both of them got to watch WrestleMania from catering.

That said, Ali was completely valid in requesting his release. That "too clean" comment was the giant red flag that should've been sign to get the fukk out.

I'm not disagreeing with any of that. :dwillhuh:

I'm saying that WWE is incompetent and doesn't have any long-term plans for anybody. Elimination Chamber was in February and WrestleMania was in April. I don't doubt that Vince had no idea who Bryan was going to face at WrestleMania until Kofi made it an easy choice. People said that Ali was supposed to be in that spot, but how do they know? It just so happens that the crowd responded well to Kofi in the Gauntlet and the Elimination Chamber so they went with that.

Kevin Owens returned around that time and got a title match, so I want to say that we probably would have gotten that match at WrestleMania if Ali didn't get injured. Maybe Ali in a triple threat, which we got at Fastlane, but I doubt Ali was going to face Bryan one-on-one.

EDIT: Daniel Bryan's Original WrestleMania 35 Opponent Revealed (And It Wasn't Mustafa Ali)

I was right. The plan was for Bryan to face Owens, but they changed it to Kofi after the Elimination Chamber.

One of the weirdest internet sensations is the "Ali was gonna wrestle Bryan at Mania and win the title" shyt... if he was in line for something that major, he would've at least touched the US or IC title in lieu of that, or at some point down the line. Owens was definitely the one, especially because of how they were promoting his return as this dude who was out there livin' life and eatin' fast food and all that shyt, which was the opposite of the promos Bryan was cutting at the time. That Kofi shyt was just so strong it took over. But people think that because Kofi replaced Ali in the Chamber, the same exact storyline was gonna play out with Ali in his place :mjlol: ridiculous.

It never made sense to me. It's not like Ali had all this momentum going into the Chamber. He was just another guy in the match that they needed to replace. They've done that before. If Ali doesn't get injured, or Kofi doesn't have that energy with Bryan, WWE goes with their original plans and we never talk about that Chamber match again.

But no, the company was definitely going to push a former 205 Live guy as the #1 contender to the WWE Championship on the grandest stage of them all, without even having him go the distance at the Royal Rumble or anything. :beli:

Ali was booked like Kofi was, in that match.

He was gonna survive multiple people for an extended period. Obviously we don’t know what was booked long term, but assuming fans would have rallied around him after that performance isn’t too far fetched considering how it turned out for Kofi.

That’s not even the cold part though. Y’all know Ali was penciled in to win Money in the Bank, right? He was told he was the winner, but right before he went out he was told Lesnar - who wasn’t even involved in the match - would be returning and winning instead. The Kofi shyt is just bad luck, but the lesnar shyt? Yea I understand why he wants out of this bum ass company
