Wallace or Topic, Wiggins, Joe and 2 lower level ones in the future?

Brooklyn should take that and riverdance
yeah

there's no offer OKC cant make. If they really want a player, they have the assets to go get them. but for whatever reason, Presti never really takes a swing, even though there's no real risk

Last season, they badly needed rebounding. This nikka went and got gordon hayward at the trade deadline :unimpressed:

If Denver makes the finals, Booth should get his job back :mjlol:

Presti gotta make a move and get SGA a proper scorer. Honestly okc needs someone like a young Clarkson that can get buckets off the bench. No one can create their own shot but SGA
Booth fukked up with the depth, but the core 3 are playoff risers and can outlast a bad Jokic game which nobody wants to admit for whatever reason

the risk is overpaying crazy and paying 2nd apron money to where Presti goes from drafting guys and letting them develop at their own pace to drafting and needing them to pan out immediately.

shyt was colossal

That was ball game. Really, OKC had about 3 layups in a row (JDubb, Alex, Wallace) that they sold on/DEN contested.

But that JDubb one was the most egregious given the time, score and shifting momentum. On a fast break, you gotta dunk that shyt and not be scared of contact or a chase down.

This is why I said SGA's season was being underrated/overlooked. Everyone says OKC is loaded but that's a lie.

They have a lot of guys who can play but only one shot creator.

His true burden gets misconstrued because they don’t run a D’Antoni/Harden (or Kidd/Luka) system where it’s over dribbling leading to one pass one shot offense. Meaning, he doesn’t generate the direct assists which makes it look like his teammates are more independent of him than they really are.

i.e. Isiah Joe generates his offense (catch n shoot 3s) from Hartenstein handoff screens. DEN has that scouted and jumps it everytime, thus for as great of a shooter as he is… if it ain’t a wide open spot up, he has no bag to fall back on.

That perceived autonomy and capability Isiah Joe had all regular season becomes null and void, and he’s now actually unplayable bc he also can’t defend nor rebound.

The whole point of this is to win the title. SGA is a championship player right now. You can't waste years trying to thread the needle. No team's window lasts as long as they think.

Even if they survive this series and win it all, this JDub as the second option isn't sustainable. When Jamal Murray was 22 in The Bubble, he was awesome. He followed it up his next healthy postseason at 25 being the co-star Jokic needed. Williams has never shown that in the postseason and he has the All-Star appearance Murray has never received.

Jaylen Brown was great in the Bubble at 23 for the Celtics in the ECF against Miami even though they didn't win the series. He's played at levels we haven't seen from Williams in his brief playoff stints.

The cash crunch comes after next season no matter what. Williams and Holmgren are going to want max extensions; iHart and Dort are gonna want new deals; your boy Wallace is the following summer.

We know damn well OKC isn't gonna go deep in the tax. Better to go all-in now and give yourself the best shot than eternally kicking the can down the road and hoping the stars align.

Jdub needs to be better, but I think we’re underestimating just how hard it is to generate your own shot, consistently, in a series like this. We saw Kawhi struggle in the 1st round against Denver as the series went on. Even though Harden isn’t a stranger to coming up short in the postseason, even he was too.

The lack of being able to self-create from behind the arc has really stopped OKC from taking advantage in this series. 3s are how you kill Denver because making it a 2s v. 2s in the halfcourt won’t work. You won’t beat Denver that way.

They need a sword like that to fight against Jokic posting them up all in the halfcourt, leading to easy offense for himself or looks for his teammates. OKC just doesn’t have a player with that kind of orbit to generate runs from.
Denver also lacks 3pt shooting the whole season, making Jokić shoot too many 3s, in order to create some spacing...
