no one in my family has had heart disease so I'm praying

But yeah, at least I dont want to die at 50 with my children mourning me :to:

My pops is 55 and battling left ventricle heart failure. He's a little overweight but not fat. But he smokes at least one pack of sigs and a six pack of budwieser every day. He found out about it 8 years ago and the doc told him he had less than a year to live if he didn't quit smoking and drinking. Obviously he didn't quit, but he didn't die either. At one point he was waiting to get on the list for a heart transplant, but they wouldn't put him on the list unless he quit smoking. Now he is not eligible for the list because his heart condition has improved.

I've talked to him about it and He said fukk it. I'm retired and I'm going out kickin it. I'm not gone change my life and be unhappy for a couple extra years. In a selfish way I'm mad at him, but he's right he should be happy, not trying to hold on to a couple extra miserable years.

I respect that. :obama:

But, I'm not happy with myself for being in this state of overweight and being unhealthy. So Imma do what makes me happy. But I do understand that. If i get a terminal illness, I'm riding out getting high and doing what I want. :youngsabo:

Last summer, was a peak of happiness for me. Everyone was saying I looked good, I was copping smaller clothes, and threw away a bunch of shyt. And I had my pawg and my stamina in the bed was just on 1,000 :lawd: :noah:

Some people chase bytches, some chase money, I chase results and happiness :youngsabo:

Key to having a healthy heart is exercise. Diet is of course crucial but BMI (body mass index) varies for alot people and health shouldn't be solely judged on how thin a person is. I would rather be a few pounds heavier and have all the markers for excellent health (blood pressure, good cholesterol, heart rate) than be thin and sickly. Most forms of aerobic exercise are excellent for strengthening the heart muscles and arteries, so establishing a daily habit of exercise goes a long way toward promoting good health as we age.

If you're serious about keeping your heart functioning at its maximum potential do 40-90 min of steady state aerobic activity most days out of the week. You'll look better, feel better, and the hard work in the gym encourages you to make other lifestyle changes that promote good health.

How did you lose 40 pounds?

Stopped eating fast food. Cooked chicken, fish, turkey with veggies

Added fruits and veggies to diet.

cut out soda, candy, etc...

cut out PIZZA which is my cot damn favorite :ohlawd:

I stopped drinking alcohol as much. Only on occasions.

I got the Noom app for my phone. logged every workout.

I also lost 5 percent of body fat. :wow:

And I exsecised 5 days per week. 45-60 mins of cardio and lifted two times per week.

but that plateu period is a bytch.

I feel like it took me one month to lose a damn pound. it sucked.

I also took pics of my weight on the scale. motivation seeing it drop.

I also had my pawg on deck who motivated me via heartbreak or keeping myself fit to be more appealing to her :heh:
