Isn't the main point of having a job is to get the work done? Crazy how co-workers feel like they own you :mjtf:

"Why can't you be talkative and share everything about you, so I can exploit you later :mjcry:"

You boss is a clown

You need to find a new job ASAP

I never understand why people value social skills more than doing the job unless it’s directly related to the job …

They on some bs. She should look for other opportunities.

However... I do believe one should master the art of social skills as a life skill. This includes small talk... which you will need when you work with people of different ethnicities and backgrounds... you need to know how to talk to everybody and not be the awkward quiet person at work, no one likes that person.

Imma keep it 100. I get the premise of what she’s saying and even agree to an extent. But from what she’s saying she has a pattern of this with all her jobs. She may very well be a bytch. Lol. Just keepin it real. If u meet an a$$hole in the morning. U met an a$$hole. If u been meeting a$$holes all day. YOUR the a$$hole. Me being a boss for years and always being the best at what I do and one of the hardest workers I’ve ever known. But I always been a cool nikka and pretty sociable as well. Not everyone is the same tho and no one should be penalized for being a quiet person. But there’s being quiet. And there’s being an a$$hole. Not saying u should get penalized for being an a$$hole. But don’t be an a$$hole and be surprised people think ur an a$$hole. Lol. That whole statement of “quiet people are the best at their jobs” shyt is a gross generalization and super cap too. I’ve had plenty of quiet workers try to fly under the radar with they bullshyt. Lol.

These 2 post pretty much say it all.

Look as an adult with a career. We gonna spend more time at work and with our coworkers than we will our family, kids and friends.

Not saying people need to go out they way and make everyone they best friend. But it’s nothing to be a minimum cordial and keep the vibe friendly so the day can be enjoyable.

Over the past few years, a lot of my latest friendships came from people I work with and many of them I’m still cool with today.

Not to mention with these connections you never know who you made need to help open a door for you or for a reference.

My last job, I was the only black guy in my department and most of the people there where white girls between 24-32 that loved to talk about The Bachelor. I had nothing really in common with them. But over years, I found ways to make small connections to be able to keep things light at work.

Hell I don’t even work there no more and I just spoke to 2 of them like in the last 3 days

Unless it's a highly specialized job, the social skills are part of the equation since there are likely a good amt of people as qualified as you. I always viewed interviews as "You know I'm qualified, this is to see if we can live with each other"

Ain't gotta be chatty patty cause that's its own headache, but nobody comfortable around the potential work shooter. Oh he was a quiet guy, always kept to himself...we didn't know he had any issues.

They do that, especially if the boss is female. Then if u don’t comply, they start trying to make a paper trail to get rid of you.

Even though Im leaving for other reasons, I really enjoyed where i am at now. Cause outside of work, that may take 10 - 15 minutes every hour to get through, Im usually by myself.

And low key, one of the main reasons why Im studying programming is to be able to work at home/by myself with minimal interaction.

Fired for reading a fukking book?!!?:dwillhuh::what: is that even legal???

No, Richard Wright the author who wrote the book based on his life was talking about an experience when a cac fired him because he wasn't laughing and joking around like the other black workers on the job. This was all back in the 1920s or so.

At work, keep your life private.

Just talk on topics such as sports, weather, celebrity & current world news, vacations, food & restaurants etc.

Its honestly no way around being FULLY private unless your a mute..

Women usually gonna make their "assumptions"

What's worse is alot of these nikkas moving the same as females...

If I'm feeling the person vibe, we can def have an off record conversation...but most people simply do too much pillowtalking

Nothing lowkey about it. And you have people agreeing with this nonsense.

Most black people dont speak in the office around cacs because its an uncomfortable environment.

They dont care about your comfort level but you have to cater to theirs? :gucci:Foh.

Thats a definite example of institutional racism that we face everyday that they pretend not to know about.

:gucci: so you agree.

It wasn’t really true, I just talked to people who sat around me
Anyway I made an effort to get up and walk around talking to random people :troll:
Next review boss said I talk too much :dead:

I don’t know about you but I hate those social butterflies at any job. Add to it they’re usually the ones to be up to something underhanded. That’s what school is for right ….to teach you discipline and to play well with others? I say be fake friendly and keep your distance as much as you can. The people on the job are not your friends they’re your colleagues, staff or employees. He’s not there to be “talkative.” They hired him to do a job. End of the day playing well with others hardly makes anyone rich.

You get a lot of :mjpls: at work when you achieved shyt in your personal life cacs feel their institutional racism should block you from. Typically its cac bosses jealous when the negros that work under them appear to obtain the wealth they have such as home ownership. My cac female boss low key hates the fact me and a Mexican co worker are home owners, bytch got tight when I told her my new home went up in value 24k in 1 year, meanwhile her shyt went up only 50k in over 5 years:mjlol:. bytch tight cuz black people in Texas often live just as good as in Ohio where she is and better then their white trash. bytch think we all country down here flipped out when she found out my house had a garage :dahell:. bytch probably thinks we ride horses on drive on dirt roads too.
