How? I think the transplants bought life to the city and make it better, but then again I didnt move here til after Katrina

Well you didn't get to experience Dallas in the 90's. So, it would be hard to explain.

One of things I like about Memphis, is that it have the 90's Dallas vibe. :blessed:

How was it?
fights/shootings was the norm. same thing goes for hush/one/angel/cirque and all the other hood clubs that used to be downtown in the early 00s that got shutdown. there were A LOT of beefs in the city back then btw different cliques/hoods/gangs/schools/apts.

now kimball is mexican, carter is 3a, everybody spread out to the suburbs when it used to be everyone was in the cliff or grove, everyone went to same bazaars, same malls, same skating rings, same parks.....it's different now. but they say the same thing about houston, nyc, la, miami and damn near every other big city in the US.

As someone who has lived in the metroplex most of they life, I'd say it's a slightly above average city. But, next year I might be going up to Oklahoma City for school. If any of ya'll know anything about Oklahoma, HMU.

Things are hella backwards here though. I came down here from Indianapolis.

And in Indianapolis, for example, during the summer when school was out construction workers would work all day on the roads so that when fall came around, the roads were open. If they had to work during the fall, they would do it at night.

Here in Dallas, they do construction in the middle of the day and nothing during the summer or at night. It takes them so long to do everything.

Been in Oklahoma the past four years for school and mostly ignorant cacs in this state. From Dallas, just moved back here temporarily for a couple of months and this place has even more Mexicans...getting to Austin/ San Antonio status. I guess it's diverse. Okay city if you love to drive and don't mind the traffic and Mexicans. Definitely less raciSt than Oklahoma though.

What's the cost of housing like up there in Oklahoma? More expensive, on average, than Dallas or nah?
And more imporantly... What do the women's thangs smell like? :shaq:

Cheaper than Dallas especially the car insurance... I had a 2br in Edmond for less than 600. Mostly cacs unless you in a college town for some import p*ssy. What school you going to?

You mean what school am I going to now? I'm at Richland College in Dallas, you probably know where that is. If things work out, next year I will be at Oklahoma City University.

I haven't been to OC yet, but I'm looking at photos of the city. It's looking real dusty. :patrice: Like some type of huge ass barrio. :scusthov:

There are noise and heat ordinances that dictate when construction can be done. Residential has to be done during the day, but there's a limit when the heat is at a certain level(this is from OSHAA). Highway has to do a certain percentage overnight. That's a lot of what people along LBJ have been complaining about since they have to use the giant lights, and some of the digging has been shaking the surrounding houses. Its just hotter here, so construction is different during the summer. Can't wait until they finish, just a weird place to drive now.

Will be interesting to see how well this experiment works. Hopefully this is the only generation of these hybrid freeways.

Overall, Texas does suffer on roads because no one wants to raise the gas tax.
