While we were in the car a few minutes ago he said he wasn't responsible for getting me to and from work So, the convo turned into me talking about how Whites pass down their generational wealth/and or businesses to their children. He said we can't compare that to our struggle. I said okay, but you were talking about BOB crime last week. Pops, "Well, they do kill each other ". I told him that was a WS argument. Then, I asked him how did he think it begun. Also, I told him that it was the CIA who distributed crack into our AA communities to break up the Black home AKA genocide against Blacks. After that he asked, "What do you think will help Blacks?". I said, "A true democratic platform where Black communities can get invested in without gentrification". His last response was, "People been saying that for years ".

THIS DEFEATIST azz mindset is a problem. I'm glad that I had a good infrastructure of people to help me along the way. Hell, my parents are yuck at me that I'm not a Baptist Christian anymore. I hope that our people (old generation) will wake up.

Yep, this is true. I basically told him that this was by design. The "BOB" crime happens in poor areas across the globe. Corporate media won't cover the WOW crime. I explained in full detail why BOB crime happens. Also, you have some in our community who don't care. Because society doesn't care about them, so they see their life as meaningless anyway.

Yep, the BOB crime issue is going to be a tough one with older people. Also, there's the notion that people of the older generation are less willing to point the finger at the system, because they are basically like, "find a way to thrive in spite of the system."

It's the altruistic mentality vs. a more personal, family centered mentality. The system is fukked up, that's why it's been relatively successful.

we need more black owned and supported business that create wealth....only then will a platform be created that will be able to give us a voice

Thing is, neither one of you are wrong, BOB crime is fukked up, but it's fukked up because of a system that has been designed in order for Blacks to stay 3rd class citizens. You throw any group of people into a small, confined area, take away resources and the ability to earn a decent living in their own area, those people will start attacking each other.

That's what happened with the Irish, the Italians, the Russians. Any and all criminal organizations were birthed out of lack of opportunities. And thus those groups became powerful because they had money to buy influence. The difference with Blacks is that the low income and poverty stricken got govt. assistance in order to pacify them. While the small few resorted to crime, but they didn't really organize in order to buy influence.

My family lives in a good area and we are working class/own a home.
