'My father passed and left us nothing'

BUT BUT BU...

'my father had an insurance policy and put me as a beneficiary'
He mistook beneficiary with being in charge of the trust. He did not receive any money from it, he was just made responsible for distributing the money based on his father's dictates. What he did do that was smart, was take out an insurance policy on his father for 2million, in which he did receive the payout. So the money his father has will go to only those who are married, and to the children of those who are not married and meet the particular requirements he has stipulated.

I find it interesting that many of you are quick to call it fake, based on him mistaking trustee of his father's Will with beneficiary of the Will. Or is it the $2 million policy he got on his father 15 years before his passing at $200 to $500 a month what makes it fake to you?

Seems like 🧢

I do think we need to normalize doing wills and trusts.

Too often, mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc leave a bunch of heir property and assets that kids and grandkids either fight over or do absolutely nothing with and properties end up blighted and going to tax sells and some White man ends up with Black people’s property and assets.

That’s the playbook to a lot of this gentrification so many people complain about that is turning traditionally Black neighborhoods White and pricing Black working class citizens out.

Let me help you all out on a bit of knowledge if you do not know this. A $2 million Term Life Insurance policy is very affordable for anyone who makes a decent amount. Yes, the price rises with the age of the person covered, but even at max it is easy enough to cover even when the person moves into their 70s to 80s.
no one is doubting that but the story itself is silly

Why is the story silly? Is it because his father wanted the money to go towards encouraging better social dynamics for his descendents? Was it him getting a policy on his father, which is possible with his father's permission? Was it the family members being upset about not meeting the requirements or him not offering up his policy payout to share with them? What part was silly, please point it out?

Effective use of insurance has been many times the difference between families who made decent money but not having any left to pass down and those who gave their descendents a financial leg up.
