why are waitress like yourself

angry @ customers instead of your bosses for not paying you what you think you deserve

think about it

but yet if the consumer said if you want to make a liveable wage you should get a better job, they would be an a$$hole

i'm so tired of this bullshyt "woe is me, my job is so hard and nobody respects me" attitude from the lower level service industry like waiters and cashiers who get all pissy about doing their job and cry about everyone but their employer.

the industry won't change because you're too fukking lazy to do anything about it and keep lining up to work for them. whether people decided to stand against tipping or stopped patronizing the businesses the outcome would be exactly the same, but it's not the public's job to make your job pay you.

Suck a dikk. You chose to wait tables because you thought it was easy money. Jokes on you jack.
Again bottom line: This is how the industry operates and it aint changing. Clowns complaining about waiters complaining and being somehow entitled because they expect liveable wages earned through an accepted societal construct thats been tied to tbe industry forever :heh: Nothing is more entitled in reality than being a broke fukk but still feeling like you deserve to go someplace and have people wait on you and bring you food and clean up your mess and pretend to like you and then when its time to pay up, THEN suddenly you disagree with the entire concept of restaurants and use that as a tired excuse to not pay the person that was just serving you. Pathetic.

FYI Im not in the service industry, try again. Im just a person that lives in reality instead of broke fukkboy land.

I been tellin folks this. I worked in a bunch of restaurants. The waiting hustle is real. I don't knock it tho. But what I find funny is that the servers don't want tipping to ever go away... Even if they got a fair wage. It's a pay cut. Maybe this isn't true at lower tier restaurants, but waiting tables at a mid to high-class restaurant is GOOD money.

I had a cousin who worked at a really busy Cheesecake factory and it wasn't uncommon for her to make 6-700 bucks on a Friday or Saturday.

No, I worked as a driver for Dominoes. Tips are definitely expected because drivers make like 2.50 (well below minimum wage). I would go to these nice neighborhoods with mansions, and get NO TIP...nada...zero...zip!!! I would get in my car, pissed the fukk off, and drive back to get the next batch of pizzas. I know its frustrating as fukk, but you can't be in that mindset that you're entitled to tips. I just kept it moving.
First of all you said fast food so I assumed drive thrus. Delivery is definitely more expected tips than a take out situation but not quite to the extent of a sit-down restaurant.

But the point is, you were hustling backwards and working for free is one of the dumbest things you can ever do. Just because you were ok and apparently financially stable enough to shrug off making nothing for putting in hard work, its ridiculous to expect other people to do the same.

Victim-blaming is a mental illness.

It's not that way everywhere, Cali waiters make at least whatever minimum wage is in that city, plus SF has the nerve to add a 3% health tax to your bill (a tax the business should be paying for its workers) so, yea, I'm not really not one to feel waiters out here are entitled to a tip, espeically not the "standard" 20% that seems to have been socialized, and especially when I'm paying for your health care. The restaurants might as well put a "utility bill" tax on there as well

exactly.. waiters in SF eat well.. you land even a place like cheesecake factory in san francisco you gonna make $60-70k+ a year bringing bread and steak to people :heh:

let alone some place like Ruth Chris

and restaurants now a days be charging to take your food home :martin: goin to a mongolian bbq place , the food is $12 , they ask for tip ( $2-3) then if you wanna bring it home they say its $10 for a box :martin:

if your state aint paying you minimum wage PLUS tips, your state lost. In california, they aint with that fukk shyt.. but thats why the price of everything going up :snoop:

I'm was paying for my classes at the time, so money was definitely important. I was talking about personal sanity when I said to keep it moving. What did it solve to run to social media, and start bytching about not getting a tip? I've been seeing people do this more, and more lately. I guess my point is that sometimes you're going to get stiffed. Its happened to all of us who have had to work for tips. You can't take that shyt personally.

I just hate the pettiness of the whole thing.....I have friends, that regretfully are like this, wait 5 minutes too long for drinks? Start complaining about the service. Waitress doesn't refill the water glass fast enough? Start crying about bad service. It's a very entitled, very arrogant, elitist mindset, and it's revolting. I HATE the idea of people working for tips, it is 100$ degrading, and I am truly sad for people that live like that....

I am in total agreement that waiters and the like shouldn't be forced to survive on tips, we shouldn't subsidize these businesses, and the service industry should fight for change, but I'd say that just being in the service industry is an example of passivity, but thats just me. Well, passivity, and sexuality as far as women.

I know that I am living so many tiers above the person who refills my drink or takes my order, on a strictly financial level, so I am gracious and kind in my conduct and tips....I don't need to flex on the service because I can, because I am in a position to do so, thats not in my heart or character. Complaining about food, or slow service is not only tasteless, it's beneath me.

As for this, I think it's callous and just needless to not tip, who cares if you waited? Get up and leave. Don't verbally mock someone because you can. The truth is people that act like this are the middle management guys, and the store manager types who take out their aggression on those beneath them. Have some class and decency about yourself.

Well there's a lot of reasons people post this shyt on social media. First of all its just to vent. Same as how people make threads every day on here about random things that happen in their lives. Secondly its an attempt to shame the customer and the behavior to try to discourage it in the future and maybe to try to enact just a bit of impotent revenge, however meaningless. Lastly, often these stories garner sympathy and random folks will make donations to the server or set up a gofundme in their name. That's become so common that we've even seen some people make up phony sob stories to try to cash in on the empathy of others :francis:
Your dad made a bytch ass son crying about the lack of tips he makes. Doesn't sound all that brilliant.
Not a server, never been one. Two times, fukkboy. Got anything else?

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
Let me clear up a couple things: Belmar is not 'South Jersey'. It's on the Shore (Monmouth County) about 10 minutes south of my city and 50-60 minutes south of NYC. Since it's along the Shore, they get a LOT of people there during the summer for the beach. We refer to them as 'bennies' (an old reference to the NJ Transit lettering conventions). D'Jais is one of the few spots that caters to the year-round residents as well as the summer vacationers regardless of ethnicity. The rest normally shut-down during the winter. An hour-long wait is absolutely normal for that spot (and all others) during the summer due to the influx of 'bennies' who range from polite to total a$$holes. So, while making fun of the waitress was uncalled for, posting the receipt on social media is also uncalled for and a waste of time. What those cats didn't do on that bill, some other customers will more than make-up for at another time if they haven't done so already.

I'm walking out before I have to wait an hour...especially if i'm hungry.

Now if there wasn't much of a choice and I had to wait, i'd complain to the manager. If the waiter/waitress was really nice and trying to make an effort i'd leave a tip, but if I have to wait an hour and that waiter/waitress aint exemplary in that circumstance, then fukk em.

I would have got the bill reduced 50% at least or free if I waited and even though I've dined and dashed and pulled stunts at restaurants... I always tip the waiter/tress
