But if you do have kids at some point and they get student loan debt, will they then be entitled to student loan forgiveness or an equivalent grant? If they create a one time college grant for every potential student, then they don’t have to worry about that argument.

Just playing devil’s advocate.
That's another thing about the loan forgiveness debate. What about people who get loans 5-10 years from now? Will their loans be forgiven too? We'll be back to the same problem again if loans are forgiven right now. I have no dog in this fight since I'm a veteran and the GI Bill took care of my education but the underlying problem of college education being super expensive hasn't been addressed. :francis:

Stop with the false equivalence. I didn’t say any of that. I’m not completely against the idea of govt assistance for loan debt but you have to provide equivalent relief to everyone else as well. You can’t just take taxpayer money and bail out the people with the highest paying jobs and give nothing to everyone else. This is especially egregious to the lower class.

Where in American policy does it say that?:stopitslime:

When the banks got bailed out was equivalent relief given to everyone? The government paid off housing debt so people's homes weren't foreclosed right? They printed up money out of thin air to save the market but gave the people a few $1500 stimulus checks.

This is why Americans can't get anywhere. The damn thousandaires use billionaire talking points telling people to pull themselves up by their boot straps. Y'all mad because you don't get anything out of student loan debt being forgiven so you don't want it to happen.

Let's just ignore the fact that college tuition costs have risen faster than wages.

Releasing young people from oppressive debt benefits the entire country if you stop being selfish and thinking so small.

Midterms finna be a bloodbath if they keep this up

Mid terms is always a blood bath especially usually when dems get in the left gets relaxed and don't vote with the same numbers the next go around.

Add repubs gerrymandering and making it difficult to vote. The repubs got 2022 midterms locked up.

Student loan payments been on pause for over a year due to the pandemic. Pay yall bills and stop complaining. I sacrificed and paid my school debt off years ago and you can too.

No hate to folks. But federal student loans been in forbearance WITHOUT Interest for 1 and 1/2 years.

Now go tell some folks who graduated in the late 80s, 90s and 2000s if they wish the government gave them interest free forbearance for 1 and a 1/2 yyears back then. They would have said man I wish they would have.

I was 18 when I voted for Obama second term , I didn’t really grasp what was going on . Now I’m a bit older , I started realizing it’s a bunch of Juelzing .

Dont matter.

They figure most young dummies get hip to their tricks by the time they’re in their 30s anyway.

Theyre already focusing on your replacement.

And most of that year and a half they've been in lockdown. And lost jobs. And haven't been able to find something else. You think people were thinking about paying student loans when they had no idea when their next chance at steady income was gonna be?

That bytch a77 nikka @skylove4 avoiding this thread like the plague :umad:
I never thought they would cancel student loans, never said I did:gucci: I would love my student loans paid off but I never cared about it:comeon:

I’m concerned first and foremost about the John Lewis voting act. Followed by things like weed legalization, green new deal, the infrastructure, wage hike, police reform, UBI and the start of a realistic way for my people to get reparations that we are owed.

I wouldn't consider it a "disfunction " just because party members don't agree. That's real shyt

I dont like it when parties just go along with the party even while knowing something could drastically impact the nation. .thats way too politic-y. Thats what Republicans do

I bought a house in 2008 after the housing crash and got in on the 8,000 buyers credit. I don't see anyone running around now crying about where is their credit. I actually see the housing market at an all time high. Some people look for literally any excuse to not help people. This is why the wealth gap grows larger in larger in this country. Education is one of the ways we can fix that problem.
