No we want him to rap over Usual Suspects type beats like he did on Deeper than Rap. We wanted him with the old Kanye. We want him rapping over beats like "Stay." Even "Let There Be Light" and "Still Dreaming." Maybe a lot of us reached the point where we won't listen to Nas in spite of his production just because it's Nas. People's tastes change, but obviously they still want to hear Nas rap and that is a compliment. No is saying they want to hear Snoop over some new production. Also, different production forces you to flow different and present stuff in a different way. Some fans don't want their favorite artists to ever sound different. But how does Jay Z pick "On to the Next One" from Swizz and Nas gets "Summer on Smash." People are acting like anyone had a problem with Nas rapping over Book of Rhymes or Daughters.

yes, nas was rapping over some beautiful stuff like stay,daughters,back when,nasty,no intro,etc on LIG and yet everyone yourself included looked for that one or two flaws (summer on smash) and again nas' beat selection is horrible.



most albums have a few horrible beats and that is overlooked, but with nas it has become this typical criticism that gets blown out of proportion. i might be in the minority it seems, but i love nas' beat selection ability. nas last 3 - distant relatives,******,LIG were all dope and different production-wise to me. yes each one has a beat or two that is questionable,but the overall product was dope imo.
now i ain't a fan of swizz, but unlike some of you i'll take the wait and see approach. nas has not disappointing me in recent times!

Okay guy. This is why people hate the worst Nas stans. All you had to say was that YOU liked his production, but you can see why someone else doesn't (BTW, I'm in the majority) and move on. Instead you're fervently pretending that you're father figure Nas is under attack by people who care enough to even critique him when most of the general public just give him a nod as Nas and then play what's popping. The first Nas thread on this board, was made by me and it was about Daughters...if you're running with that angle against me you'll look like a fool.
