the words and style of rhyming made me think of Jay Elec

like

You ain't as hot as I is
All of these false prophets is not messiahs
You don't know how high the sky is
The square mileage of Earth, or what pi is

it's hard for me to think of Nas saying you ain't at hot as I is....Jay Elec often uses "hot" in his raps like I ain't a Hot Boy but the flows jalapeno

uses I ain't as well

and this other part

They pray "please God let him spit that Uzi in the army lining
That shorty doo-wop rolling oo-wop in the park reclining"

"please God let him spit that Uzi in the army lining" - reminds me of Jay, not something I'd naturally hear from Nas also Jay has that track "Uzi weighs a ton"

reminds me too much Jay Elec....either way I'm not even mad at Nas
those lines are easily jay electronica, how could anyone deny that?

Nas is a Rakim stan.
i know he is, but if we can look at the whole song and some of the other lines mentioned it doesn't add up for me

and I don't see Nas quoting Rakim after the UBR backlash from Rakim

Emphasis on lines. It's just that. Rappers feed each other lines all the time. If that's the case then Ghostface and Raekwon are each other's ghostwriter

It's known that Cormega gave Nas the line "I'll be flooded with ice so hellfire can't scorch me" for his It Was Written album

Inputting a line here and there are different than writing a whole song for a nikka

ok i respect this and I see this as another possibility but the whole song reeks of Jay Elec or a lot of it from him

they were probably in the damn studio together

found this

Update: Stic.man commented on his work with Nas via Facebook, “As far as the rumors about myself and jay electronika ghost writing for Nas, let me say this. Nas is one of the if not the most prolific original lyricist to EVER do it. My contributions to his album was a collaboration and an honor and under his direction of what he wanted to convey and say. Haters cant discredit that man’s genuis. Nas is the Don.”

He later elaborated, saying he was “just a white belt that answered the call for a session with a master of the craft. And I assisted where it was requested with ideas, beats and some writing.” So, maybe some smoke, but not the type of fire these rumors suggested.

Honestly, I don't see it

First off, if you say he flows like Jay Elect, the beat on the song is basically all piano, and has no drum beat. How else you expect a rapper to rap on that track? :wtf:

Also Nas has alot of monotone type songs with a similar flow to Queens Get the Money. Especially the whole Streets Disciple album, and about half of Hip Hop is Dead. Still Dreaming is a perfect example of this

And if you wanna talk about straight up lyrics. Saying Jay wrote it cause Nas says "Uzi" or "hot" or "messiah" really isn't substantial evidence to say Jay Elect wrote the song for him. It actually proves the point that Jay was actually just feeding him lines in the studio when Nas was writing it
