My story, Your Story sounds like a posthumous collab. The back and forth doesn’t sound natural.

They definitely weren’t in the studio together recording, which is a shame because it’s a fire track, would be 5/5 if they cleaned it up.

Havoc & Prodigy’s back and forth sounded seamless. :mindblown:

This is them recording in the Bahamas, where a majority of the album was done.

Don’t understand nikkas sometimes.

Been asking for a Hard(:dame:) straight hip hop album from dude since IWW.

They came through on that IMO

nikkas just like to complain i think.
Magic sounds more IWW than this. This album sounds like the album y’all wanted Nas to make after Illmatic if he never got with Trackmasters and Stoute. It’s a very early 90s simplistic boom bap soundscape. This should be adored by the heads who were in highschool when Illmatic dropped. But for those of us who became Nas fans during IWW-Stillmatic era these beats don’t do him justice.

The takes you see now on instagram and twitter and all that shyt is so weak. This is what the game came to? Cute remarks. Everyone wants the likes and the first response. No one has the patience for reflection. Nas is my favorite rapper. I've been a fan since I was 12.

I really haven't like much Nas has done in like 10 years, it's not trash, it's just missing something. The last time I heard Nas really flow that moved me was his flow on that wack Kanye album, the song where he's rapping about the ghosts of slave owners in mansions, "Everything". That was the old Nas. Blue Benz and All Bad. There was one or two from Kings Disease 2. It's just part of the legends getting older.

Nothing here is trash, but it's not moving me. The beats and raps lack urgency, but Nas is 50 year old now.
Nas doesn't have that paranoid Messiah complex anymore which i think was integral to his post-Illmaric output, that's definitely been missing since he got his money right lmao

If the album started with Madman and that intro this would be a stronger album.

This sounds like it’s from the God Son/Stillmatic era.

I really want a alchemist/Madlib album.

I think this is my biggest problem with the album. It starts out so low energy, they were suppose to come out the gate with an absolute heater.

The album starts out behind the 8 ball which kinda curbs your excitement as you go through it initially.

With that being said, this is getting better and better :wow:

Nas dropping this to end the year is just another sign 2025 sucks. It’s not even bad, but it’s not a good Nas album.

2025 has been the best year in hiphop in years. We’ve had so many great albums. You’re missing out

I was in highschool when I AM came out. In a way i agree with you. I was never one that really chased the idea of a Nas & Peemo album being the fabled holy grail thing people made it out to be. Preemo beats are best in moderation. He’s got classics but nobody really want a full album of the same shyt beat loops and scratching on the hooks, etc.

With that said, being that Nas has actively avoided making a straight boom bap NY rap album for almost 30 years now. I’m rocking with it. Listening to Madman as i type this and the Beat+Rhymes feel so good to me.

This is music for dudes who don’t even like hooks in their songs. Put on a Beat and spit that shyt out:ahh:
