So how was he able to get out of his Def Jam deal when he still had 2 albums to go?
Contract might of had an expiration date

Didn't LIG and his 20th anniversary album make the last 2?So how was he able to get out of his Def Jam deal when he still had 2 albums to go?
Not sure but before LIG he wanted to release Lost Tapes 2, but they wouldn't let it count toward the amount of albums he had left on his contract.Didn't LIG and his 20th anniversary album make the last 2?

Glad he finally crossed over. Doesn't need a machine behind him anymore, he knows his fans got him either way.

we finally getting Lost Tapes 2He has one more album for Def Jam...so hopefully he'll still get a run at mainstream promo
Im not too sure how this will work out. If he still has Sony backing him thats cool but I wish he could still have a presence on radio and video and get mainstream press. His sales will decrease further probably which would be a shame.
I had a feeling he might go to Mass Appeal after the last album deal so this sets him up perfectly but I will hate to see him no longer getting mainstream press (depending on what Antony Saleh does)
nas current cycle of releasing music is about 1 album every two years. Truth be told, Nas only maybe has 2 more studil albums left in him before he moves on. I just think after this last Def Jam album, he wanna do a album with no "label politics" involved which will be his last.
and we can count on antony saleh for maintaining a good album promotion for nas
