I'm Hard Like D-Block Readin The Book Of Enoch...
:salute: Glad he finally crossed over. Doesn't need a machine behind him anymore, he knows his fans got him either way.

did you even read thee article sir,it says "Sony CEO"

just cause thee new branch of thee tree is named after Mass Appeal doesn't make it "independent"..

it would've been dope if Nas had gone truly independent,he could have 100% creative control and sell just off name alone..but tis his life&choice:manny:

i'll still check for his album dough..however,having Future&ASAP Mob on a record named after Mass Appeal:huhldup:

then again some say Guru was bi sexual,i choose to believe it twas slander but maybe i'm just viewing his legacy with colored lenses..

He has one more album for Def Jam...so hopefully he'll still get a run at mainstream promo

Im not too sure how this will work out. If he still has Sony backing him thats cool but I wish he could still have a presence on radio and video and get mainstream press. His sales will decrease further probably which would be a shame.

I had a feeling he might go to Mass Appeal after the last album deal so this sets him up perfectly but I will hate to see him no longer getting mainstream press (depending on what Antony Saleh does)

nas current cycle of releasing music is about 1 album every two years. Truth be told, Nas only maybe has 2 more studil albums left in him before he moves on. I just think after this last Def Jam album, he wanna do a album with no "label politics" involved which will be his last.

I hope Def Jam still promotes the album. Im not sure how I feel about him going independent, but I always had a feeling he was going to go independent after this album anyway and the Mass Appeal label imprint was an indication. Technically with it being distributed by Sony this sounds like what Odd Future has and what Roc Nation has (albeit on a MAJOR scale) and also what 50 Cent will be having with Capitol.
I just hope the label will promote future Nas albums but then again 20 years in the game and at 40 maybe this is the end of mainstream charting Nas, but as long as he got his businesses going he'll be fine

it took nas 20 years to finally become a good business man....hes with henny, own festivals and now going indie.....dude is smart, he can sell 300k indie in his sleep....release it over the net with no promotion...and collect all the money...he would only have to pay producers and engineers ....and because hes nas....he wont have to pay top dollar either
