Blunt Ashes is such an awful beat but stans like that shyt. And the Kelis joint is one of his worst songs all time. It was also weird that he tried to force the bongo band samplke back down the audiences throat even after they'd rejected it on the previous album*.

True, but it's one of the few beats that actually matches the theme of Nas's rhymes. It has that haunted, ethereal feel. So when you first start hearing it, it sticks out. Until you realize that yes, it's yet another trash Nas beat.

i didn't really start browsing online hip hop forums until about 07.
so when HHID dropped it was a huge hit with me and the ppl within my circle. i knew LOTS of ppl that were fukkin wit that album pretty heavy.
then i see online ppl sayin it was wack and one of his worst albums.
personally i LOVED that album. like legit that album was in rotation for a LONG time with me. even still i could go back to that album and bump pretty much 90% of it. maybe like 2-3 tracks i wasn't fukkin with. the rest was heat.
one of those classic winter albums

Where Ya'll At was VERY close to making it, Nas talked about it during and up to the release. It was still included as a Best Buy exclusive digital release for the first week
