People saying Lupe is wack should stick to trash like bababy, future, migos.

Lupe has one of the best discographies in hiphop. 1st and 15 is a classic, the cool is a classic, tetso and youth is so close to being a classic, drogas wave is probably the best album I’ve heard in about 5yrs. And I’m not even including his classic mixtapes.

And please don’t compare j cole to lupe, he shyts on lupe in every category, lyrics, storytelling, albums. People completely forget for such a good mc cole is, he’s dropped numerous trash albums. His best forest hills drive can’t fukk with either of the 4 lupe albums.

Lupe doesn’t have a top 50 discography.
F&L is a dope album. 4 mics. I wouldn’t be mad if someone said 4.5 mics.

Cube’s contribution to Straight Outta Compton?
West Side Connection?
Cube has actual classic singles.
Cube has classic guest verses.

Lupe isn’t anywhere remotely close to Cube.

I think Lupe is a better rapper than Nas and Jay-z in 2019...actually for like 10 years now. It's only natural, he is a serious student of both, he incorporated the best parts of their arsenals into his and left out most of the bad parts. The student should eventually become more polished than the instructor if the instructor isn't purposefully holding back information/skills from the student. Same can kind of be said for Rakim and Nas...or Kane and Jay-z. In terms of song making and legacy though, Lupe doesn't even come close to Nas or Jay-z...but on some rap skills shyt I think he already passed em. Lupe has a pen like a Mount Rushmore level URL rapper (probably better) and he has the musical catalog of a legendary rap artist on top of that, that guy is different.

Cube has two of the defacto best rap albums OF ALL TIME. Predator is probably a classic too, or at least 4.5. Lethal Injection is a dope 4/5 album, I don't wanna hear no hate for that album lol. After that sure his albums took a dive, but when you got at least 2 classics, 1 near classic, and one dope album...I'm gonna put you ahead of most people on lists.

AMW and DC are better than anything lupe is put out, I completely agree 100%. AMW is in my personal top 10 albums of all time. But lets not kid ourselves with everything he released after Predator were all mediocre at best. Westside connection era was wack to me. I got Cube in my top 5, not lupe. But that's not because of his catalogue, it's more because of his impact in hiphop. Forget MC, Cube is probably top 3 greatest icons in the hiphop scene due to his impact.

But overall catalogue, lupe got two terrible album with lasers and drogas light. Cube got numerous duds with both war and peace albums, raw footage and laugh now cry later.
