Also people have to realize this will be Nas’s FIRST album that drops exclusively via Mass Appeal and not Def Jam. Nasir and LT2 were Def Jam projects. I’m quite SURE Nas wants to set up the next phase of his career on his OWN label in the best way possible, which would be releasing a fire album.

I want political Nas on this. Not satellites cause earthquakes anti vax shyt. But speaking on the times. A message to the Feds nas.

There's so much to speak on with the Trump era presumably coming to an end. He needs to come correct. I say this as someone who is from Queens and who held Nas in GOAT status forever. Nasir was extremely medicore. LT2 was just unforgettable. I want a cohesive album but he needs to come with that sonically dope shyt. And I at least want one Salaam Remi beat for old time sake but i need it to be Made you look type heat.

I have high hopes for this. I hope I'm not disappointed. I didn't really care for Nasir or Lost Tapes 2 (both had a couple songs but ehhh).

If he got "Nas album done" or "echo" quality songs on here, it's going to be flames. Hit Boy, don't let us down.

“I want this Nas not that Nas. I want this, I need atleast that. He needs to do this” :mjlol: do yall hear yourselves? Im happy for a new project from the god and whatever direction he decides to take his artistic abilities I’m excited to hear it.
Uh, what’s wrong with that? People aren’t just blindly gonna like anything Nas does just because he’s a legend. People have preferences on what they want him to sound like because they didn’t like his last two projects. That’s a very reasonable take.

Its corny. And you’re building yourself up to be disappointed if you want to put him in a box to talk about only what you want him to talk about. A lot of yall still on this wanting him to work with select producers bullshyt.

I'll be honest I dont think we'll get that at all and thats one of my worries about this album. I think this is gonna be Nas in full reminsicing of coming up in the streets and industry plus celebrating his wealth off investments mode.
At best we can hope he sounds crisp doing it. I want exactly what you want, cause for all the flaws about Nas as a social/political speaker when he was spitting like that from Stillmatic-Untitled its why he became my fav MC, just felt like he was diverse and could capture what a lot of people feel even with on the surface bars. And yeah I would love Salaam to work with Nas again, I dont care what anyone says they have a great chemistry and post Primo hes given some bangers especially as Singles and Street single warm ups.

But I genuinely feel like this is Nas trying to go big time from what Ive seen hes in the studio with and thats why I think this is gonna be a risk and its weird hes doing the rollout he is for it (10 days annoucement nothing else except a video with Davido comng soon)

Hes not wrong though.
Like we're all guilty of it, Im guilty of it right here cause I know what this joint might come across as. But 25 years in after Illmatic I thought it would be obvious hes gonna do what he wants and at this point you gotta wonder why we still do it unless one does like what he still does

I wouldnt be surprised if they stuck the Def Jam label on this release. Hes not signed as a solo artist to Def Jam anymore but they did a deal with UMG under which Def Jam is part of so maybe they'll tag it for look purposes.

But who’s saying they want him in one box though? And even if they did, if that’s what they like, there’s nothing wrong with that. They’re fans and they’re entitled to like a specific styling of an artist and not like others. The artist doesn’t have to follow along with it, but fans have the right to want a specific sound.

I just think if someone wants to hear a specific sound they should dig up that album.
