Not the only one...but one of the only ones. :heh:

Honestly it sounds like whoever recorded/engineered that album literally took Nas' vocals in certain spots and slid them. Sometimes sliding vocals can be a good tool in the tool box. But his flow just sounded off to me in places, and it's weird because Nas' flow never sounds off. It's always so consistent.

I don't dislike Nasir but overall it was just a massive letdown to most people. Nas hadn't dropped anything in forever, and it was hyped as this big thing. Kanye had just killed it on Daytona a few weeks earlier, and I think we were all expecting something on par with that. The result wasn't bad, but it was just so middle-of-the-road that it was frustrating. Neither guy seemed like they brought their A-game. Kanye's production too sounded to me like he was just trying to do knockoff Madlib beats in places, and the sounds just didn't mesh for whatever reason.
:yeshrug:

I think the whole roll out for Nasir was terrible, if I remember right it didn’t drop on time because Mike Dean was still finishing it and then since it’s only 7 songs there is very little room for error. Adam & Eve and White Label are fire to me, Bounjor and Cops Shot the Kids are pretty good, Simple Things is good but seems unfinished and the other 2 songs are complete trash so it’s not a terrible project it’s just average and for Nas average is looked at as bad. I think the people that really hate it never went back and listened to it again after the initial listen, Nas projects need multiple listens and I don’t think people gave it that

27 summers feels unfinished. Queens wolf doesn’t. Lost Freestyle longer than 90 percent of songs on Kings Disease. Lyrically LT2 is superior. LT2 is a great project and I can see how it’s more favored by some Nas fans.

I think KD sounds more cohesive than LT2, but to what you were talking to @Pop123 about when he said: "Queens Wolf is fire...but sounds unfinished, which is probably why he vaulted it. Beautiful Life is dope. Lost Freestyle is cool...but unfinished. It never ends is cool. Highly favored is okay. QB politics is fire...but unfinished. I'm not saying its absolute trash, its just light. A lot of unfinished shyt, some sloppy lazy rhyming, okay production at best, etc... IMO its like a 3.5, maybe...nothing about it makes me want to listen to it again"

Queens Wolf's beat sound a little bit unfinished to me. Lost Freestyle doesn't sound unfinished to me. There's no hook, but a lot of joints these days have no hooks, and it kinda reminds me of Book of Rhymes. That was more a concept joint, but it was still like free-association bars without a hook. QB Politics sounds finished to me. Again, there's no hook and the beat has a lot of space in it, but it does sound finished to me. I agree that Never Ends is pretty cool but not crazy. And I agree that Beautiful Life and War Against Love are very dope.

For some reason though I don't listen to LT2 very much now that it's a year later. Not sure why. I like a ton of it, but I don't revisit it often.

I'm happy to have been proven wrong about this one--solid album. Even that wack single plays its position and sounds pretty good in sequence.

Might be his best album since God Son..

Honestly, this night be better than God Son..

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
If Nas is giving this type of dudes interviews, but not breakfast club, then there's definitely beef.
But I'm clueless as to what the beef could be

Dj envy pretends they're close

I don't even care about BC. I just want Nas to give charlamange 2hrs
Charlamagne posted this whole essay praising this album. I don’t think the beef is with him if there is one.

Charlemagne has a history of trolling. He says Nas is his favorite rapper so it’d be different if Nas granted him an interview but Nas traditionally doesn’t deal with clowns or shock jocks

There's no way a charlamange interview won't be better than anything we have seen so far
Dude is a good interviewer. That knows how to ask pertinent follow up questions. Too many interviewers lack this skill. When the guest is talking, in their mind they're thinking of the next question. Not really listening

Btw, ctg knows what guests to act goofy with. N when to tone it down. I'm not concerned with that at all
