It was the hype. People were let down. It was a little underwhelming and short but it’s better than SD, Nastradamus and HHID to me. Just have to take it for what it is instead of what you wanted.

Exactly.

People forget that it also followed Daytona and I believe Kids See Ghosts. Kanye managed to craft the perfect Pusha and perfect Cudi pieces. That set up the expectation that Ye would craft a perfect Nas album.

Then the release was so fukking messy and to then get a product that isnt as instantly gratifying as the others were made it all look much worse.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Nasir is NOT a bad album.

I’m telling you right now its going to be one of those albums that in 4-5 years blogs and sires will revisit and give it better standing. Almost like It Was Written.
Shouldn’t even be in the same sentence brodie. The streets fukked wit IWW heavy. Can’t say the same for Nasir. And I don’t think it’s bad at all.

For Nas to have #1 album in 2020 is an incredible feat. He's been out since 1991 that's just :wow::mjcry::blessed:

The 7 best songs on those albums are better than Nasir tho. SD got positive reviews on release and retroactively hated on. That’s the true underrated album to me.

Shout out to Hit-Boy man.
Flat out told Nas, aye we need AZ.
Which led to G-Code saying let's get Foxy
and Mega too. Hit-Boy put the firm reunion in motion.. That's how u produce!

yea he really “Produced” the album. It meant something to him and you can tell he was a big fan. AZ? Nas himself was surprised by the suggestion. AZ delivered.

Nasir is not a bad album, I like the album a lot, I liked that YE went the mad scientist route on the production side, That album was an Art Album, Kanye got creative and went in his art bag, the production was on next level shyt.

Nasir is an average album. The highs aren’t not that good. It’s a cool album for Nas but Kanye and Nas can produce a better project than that. I’d rather listen to the highs on every other Nas album. 3.25/5

Let's give Hit-Boy his props, Hit-Boy joined the ranks of great hip hop producers like Dr. Dre, RZA, Pete Rock, Marley Marl, Kanye, Muggs ect producing a classic album solo. These new producers these 10 year's can't produce whole classic album's

nikka i don’t remember asking YOU your opinion.

We don’t count Nas out over here pleighboi:birdman:
I'm just stating facts....for it to do that numbers without mainstream traction is a very hard feat in itself...on top of that you add fickLe hip hop fans on the message board and blogs that always complains about mumble rappers but never go out and support their fave rappers....I've seen this movie too many times pleighboi :francis:

Killers white boy band is number 1 currently on iTunes album...you know why white people go out of their to support their own no matter how washed up they are:mjlol:

But hip hop fans that claimes to be purists on the other hand :hhh:

Bet you not everyone that commented on this thread has actually purchased the album :troll:

The album is dope probably a classic later down the line but it is what it is:yeshrug:

Nas wasn’t surprised by the AZ suggestion he was surprised by the Mega and Foxy suggestion. He already knew AZ was in album mode because he’a been working on Doe or Die 2. He HINTED that he might be on that project
