Fam. Like I said. nikkas is corny. But imma disagree on the 9th shyt. He fukkin played himself and created a bullshyt narrative while Nas was at the top of the game. Ever since then Nas could never shake that shyt. How the fukk it look for them to praise 9th’s version of God’s Son to his face? He didn’t even work on THAT version. That shyt is an insult to the producers he actually worked with on the retail album. Salaam Remi got better beats on that album than EVERY 9th Wonder beat on God’s Stepson. So does Alchemist.

It was insult to remix that album in that manner. When God's Son dropped, I was playing that album non stop. "Zone Out" is the only song on it that I didn't really like. Then 9th Wonder remixed the album. I listened to it, but the energy and urgency of a song like "Warrior's Song" was gone. I mean 9th's beat was crazy, but I still favored the original.

nobody can name a classic 9th wonder beat from the past decade. Nas doesn't need to work with 9th, 9th needs to work with Nas.

That’s what it was. The argument wasn’t about Nas picking bad beats in 1996 that’s just fukkin stupid. That argument literally started with bum ass 9th Wonder. Nas had the streets on lock from Stillmatic to God’s Son. 9th bum ass pops outta nowhere talkin bout “I wanna hear Nas on good beats again..” and the shyt took off. God’s Son was hot in the streets fam it didn’t even make sense. nikka the Alchemist beats on the OG God’s Son was better than every remix beat the nikka 9th made.

The best remix joints that 9th did was the Cross and Warrior Song, but other than that the OG version was fire.
