90s, 2000s, 2010s and now 2020s. Four decades of being at the top of the game. Only Jay has a chance to match that at this point.

I really don't wanna start a stan war in here, so I won't.

I believe that Scarface has one more in him, but it won't get the amount of attention this one is(Deeply Rooted was amazing imo). You can count on one hand how many emcees from that era that can still put out AOTY (across ALL GENRES) material. Hell fukk it: musicians period.

Nas was going the fukk off on the very beginning of EPMD 2, then with all due respect, EPMD cut off what sounded like was gonna be the best verse on the album with their :flabbynsick: flows :pachaha:

Bucket on low like Erick & Parrish
Closed casket flow, all you nikkas get deaded
They don’t give you one single rose while you can smell it
So I pick from my own garden…
Wanna go out with my garden like Godfather
Grandkids and a Rottweiler, got over the block trauma

:whew:

based off first listen, this is a flawless transition from KD1. Everything is no-nonsense from the album title to the cover art - he's not here to play around, just deliver bars and music. Death Row East as the deep storytelling #2 track reminds me of Last Real nikka Alive, which was also the #2 track on God's Son.

Extremely fukked up for hitboy to shyt on kanye like that
Hit Boy started as a Good Music in-house producer for Kanye. Kanye snaked him multiple times before Hit left the camp and started getting his own hits. I got zero issue with him letting out some frustration.

IIRC Kanye screamed on him when he heard Hit got a Beyoncé placement.

I can’t believe y’all sleeping on 40 Side. That’s one of the best tracks on the album. And it ain’t a trap beat it’s just got trap drums but it’s an interpolation of One Mic.

right now top tracks for me is

The Pressure
40 Side
Rare
Nobody
No Phony Love
Nas Is Good

but it’s not like the other tracks aren’t great this are just the ones grabbing me the most right now

People aren’t hating on Em’s verse, they’re just telling the truth about it. It’s another technical marvel verse lacking soul, something he’s been doing for years now. It’s not a “bad” verse, it’s like we get it, you can use a whole bunch of syllables in a small amount of bars

what you just said is a fair take, I was talking about people over the top hating which is almost as annoying to me as his fans over the top nut hugging his verse. Like nothing can be average or just cool it’s gotta be the best thing ever or the worst thing ever.
