I only read the thread title (I gotta stop doing just that, lol) but if he really said this like that how is that not facts?

:hubie:

Jay-z arguably is better than Biggie to most...and Pac and DMX were never heavy lyricists like that...doesn't take away from the greatness.

NONE OF THIS IS NEW INFORMATION:gucci:

This shyt kills me that these publications act like this shyt hasn’t been said ad nuaseum.

Everybody who knows about the battle
Knows about the conversation between Nas and Hov that and that Nas took issue with some of Jay’s comments. This is literally old ass shyt

We ain’t the intended demo anymore unfortunately

that early 2K nostalgia wave is about right on time now that it’s been 20 years.

Lotta new eyes and ears to capitalize on and monetize that were either not born yet or toddlers when the battle went down, this is all brand new newstories to them

Best we can do is smile and nod when it comes up as tho it’s breaking news

You know why this is unbelievable to me... It's from a party in 2000. By then Tupac was dead. Why was Jay talking about he's for the starving street nikkas when Pac had major hits about more than that. Why is he saying DMX got them same nikkas copping when DMX was outselling him, on tour with him and was putting out #1 albums back to back to back by that time. Why the hell is he bringing up Sauce money lol. Mind you.. We still at a party.. Why is Jay predicting Beans wouldn't sell 600k? But Beans debut already was out in feb 2000 and it went gold. So why the extra 100k? And wouldn't all the nikkas signed to roc be considered starving street nikka rap?

It doesn't add up. We only want to believe it cause it's Nas. Pretend Jim Jones said it... Now do you believe it?

it's very believable because three years later, his swan song was dedicated to asserting how he is the greatest and reminding the public why they should think so too.

Even (especially) in death, Pac and Big reigned supreme and were regularly touted as GOATs. I could see him feeling some type of way about that :manny: Especially with that line on the song where he talks about "they got him battling ghosts."

The Pac and X jab was his way of trying to marginalize them and their fans :mjpls:

he knows that he could never touch the masses on an emotional scale like they did. AND they were outselling him :umad:

Nas was his most direct opponent, he was alive and could spit at an elite level.

and you see what he ended up trying to do to Nas :scusthov:

that's why this is believable.

Yup. Nas was selling millions at the same time as Pac and Big. Jay was the little nikka at that time.
Yup your right even 2pac said the same thing in the ORIGINAL version of bomb 1st.

This needs to stop.

Jay-z barely had 1 album out when pac & big died. He wasn't a lil nikka. He was just a new artist.

In reality. Jay was a boss and them other dudes were workers.

It took pac 4 years to get a platinum plaque. Nas didn't even go gold on his debut. Prolly wasn't platinum yet when pac died. Biggie only sold 2 million records at the time of his death.

Still wonder why Pac felt so threatened by Jay considering he was a brand new artist barely making any noise and never said nothin bout Pac.

Pac could prolly see Jay talent from afar and tried to dead that shyt before he became a problem. Coz Big was down with lots of cats in Jay position at at that time yet it's only Jay name that Pac called out.

Because it was in Jay-Z dead presidents video where they were saying they were going take all the money on the west coast and then right before biggie rolls the dice he says “who shot ya” .. a clear dig at 2pac..guilt by association.

It's not surprising why this is being brought up. 2021 is the 20th anniversary of The Blueprint and Stillmatic. It's obvious there would be recollection about that time in hip hop.

Didn’t think about that.

Still i wish that these articles and think pieces would at least put a focus on their reconciliation and the epicness of the I Declare War concert and surrounding atmosphere
