i think the issue here isnt the lack of commercial picks. its moreso the fact that none of these albums are getting bumped in real life. so for alot of people, its just as bad as iggy & macklemore getting nods. theyre still getting it wrong. theyre just bricking from the other end of the court.

and its nothing new. its like how people used to be :rudy: over artists/albums that received forced nods at award shows and got high marks in the source or other magazines, but got little to no play outside.

Where? What's real life? Who defines what real life is? How do you know what's getting bumped?

I listen to all of them regularly except the relatively unknown one. Gibbs, Royce, Nas, Jay.

Cool fun fact

Nas is nominated for best rap album. He was nominated in that category back in the ‘90s, wasn’t he?

He was. Nas was first nominated for best rap album in the 1999 awards year for I Am…, which allows him to set a new record for the longest span of best rap album nominations (22 years). He swipes the title from Jay-Z, who was first nominated in 1998 (Vol. 2..Hard Knock Life) and was nominated most recently in 2017 with 4:44 (a 20-year span). Nas’ nominated album this year is King’s Disease.

You must be living under a rock
KD has been critically acclaimed by all publications and by most fans

Even was the theme music to the NBA finals on ABC.

LIG was good, but had too many skippable joints in what resulted in a somewhat boring album.

KD is Nas in his true essence

pitchfork and rolling stone shytted on KD. It hasn’t even got a classic or near classic review.

Pitchfork ALWAYS shyts on Nas (outside of Life Is Good) just go look at their Untitled review. It’s sickening.

Rolling Stone had some Cac that was on some straight retarded shyt.

Besides those two the album was highly acclaimed

Atlantic Records low-key messed up

“Vince Staples sent his verse last day because originally YBN Cordae was there in that spot," explains Royce. "Atlantic would not clear YBN Cordae, so I had to take him off. Cause they said they wanted to 'keep him young.' These labels, they are so caught up young, young, young, young. Obviously the kid wanted to do it, otherwise, he wouldn't have done it! So why put him in that position? And now the album is nominated for Grammy. You don’t think that in retrospect was a bad move from them?”

Royce Da 5'9" Claims Cordae's Label Stopped His "Allegory" Verse To "Keep Him Young"
