reading through the thread, and it finally hit me why people always bring up jay when taking about nas: cause that's the only way he can still be considered an 'underdog'...'hip hop heads' like to root for the underdog and against the established 'mainstream' artist...it lets them think they are 'more into the music' and 'represent real hip hop' or whatever bullshyt they wanna spew....and if they didn't bring jay up when talking about nas, they'd have to accept that he's not an underdog...he hasn't been one since he released 'if I ruled the world'...
