Unless any of y'all nikkas ever been on stage you can't say shyt. You can memorize and spit your verse 20 times right before you get on stage, but when you have a whole crowd in front of you, you're moving, there's shyt going on on stage, lights flashing, cameras out and shyt, sometimes you just zone out into the atmosphere and lose focus on what you're performing.

It happens.

Nas has been in the game a long time. He's written too many songs to remember them all.

Now performing...you've been perfectly on point with every note and every word every time...in front of crowds with ppl making all kinds of noise, with shyt happening, random ppl doing unexpected shyt, while you're moving and dancing, and having ppl flash cameras in your face and all that???

Marching Band :sas2:
Not the same as rapping at all bruh.

For one, music tends to have patterns that are easy to remember simply because they are patterns--your brain is wired to recognize patterns (It's why choruses are easier to remember than verses, in any genre of music). Memorizing a 16 bar verse, muchless, I dunno, 48 verses of 16 bars each (16 three verse songs), is memorizing THOUSANDS of words that are arranged much more intricately than instrumental music.

Not to mention, if you're in a band you can play off the rest of the band. If you're on stage as a rapper it's just you and the lyrics in your head...nobody to play off of.

I be around music. I have friends who play instruments and do shows, and I rap son. I been on stages. AND I've played music before. Memorizing music, imo, is much easier than memorizing rap lyrics.

Btw, you failed to answer the question, homie.
