nikka fukk outta here. I still got original copies of RTD and LAD. I actually had LAD on bootleg before it released. I dont hate Biggie at all. I just don't like how he gets absolved from everything involving Pac. I'm saying this as a Brooklyn nikka.

Boy just admit u hate the nikka and K.I.M.

No need to pretend no more. U was mad as fukk at the idea of RTD influencing IWW cause u hate Biggie with a passion. Had to downplay the influence even tho Nas admitted it out his own damn mouth. SMH

Too much crab ass nikkas up in NY, that’s why y’all fell off so hard. :scust:

IWW is the most non-commercial, fake commercial album ever. That album is hard…even the singles, but somehow back then, because it wasn’t park jam hip hopy the geeks wanted to act like it was mainstream pop. Smh. Compared to a lot of shyt Big was on back then, IWW sounds like some Griselda shyt lol

And I still feel IWW influenced Life After Death. The sequencing:

1. Album Intro- Life After Death Intro

2. Storytelling joint (IWW with "The Message) and Life After Death with "Somebody's Got To Die"

3. The first single- IWW with the sing songy "Street Dreams" interpolating the Eurythmics and Biggie with the sing songy "Hypnotize

4. The Premo joint: IWW had "I Gave You Power" and Life After Death had "Kick In The Door"

IWW doesn't have R. Kelly on the album, but R. Kelly is on the remix to "Street Dreams", which likely inspired "Sky's The Limit". Life After Death also has an R. Kelly feature.

IWW has "Live nikka Rap", which is produced by Havoc. Life After Death has "Last Day", which is also a grimey, Havoc produced collaboration.

Nas has Dr. Dre beat and vocals from Dre, which likely inspired the Too Short featured West Coast featured "The World Is Filled"

Songs like "Shootouts", "Suspect", and "Affirmative Action" influencing songs like "nikkas Bleed" and "What's Beef".

Big was a much better hook writer and Puff was smart for putting him on samples of familiar hits.
Flow is even.
But otherwise, Nas is the better MC and has the better first 2 albums.

it was written is better than ready to die and lad
I think it’s better than RTD too, lol

Yeah man, it’s not better than LAD imo. Illmatic vs LAD is a better one…and it’s not even really doable because they’re so musically different and were meant to serve different purposes. Illmatic is like the perfect underground sounding hip hop album…LAD is like the perfect commercial/big (no pun…no pun again) sounding hip hop album. LAD is the rap Thriller to me

Questlove has talked about The Roots sitting behind Nas during the 95 Source Awards.

First, Quest says that Black Thought pointed out that Nas was wearing RL Polo that looked like it came from Marshalls. :lolbron:

Then, Quest says that Nas sunk lower, and lower into his seat each time Biggie won an award. I think he even said that Nas left early too, and Quest knew what that “Nasty Nas” was dead.
