Questlove has talked about The Roots sitting behind Nas during the 95 Source Awards.

First, Quest says that Black Thought pointed out that Nas was wearing RL Polo that looked like it came from Marshalls. :lolbron:

Then, Quest says that Nas sunk lower, and lower into his seat each time Biggie won an award. I think he even said that Nas left early too, and Quest knew what that “Nasty Nas” was dead.
Nas was a million times flyer than them nikkas back then. No question.

I think it’s better than RTD too, lol

Yeah man, it’s not better than LAD imo. Illmatic vs LAD is a better one…and it’s not even really doable because they’re so musically different and were meant to serve different purposes. Illmatic is like the perfect underground sounding hip hop album…LAD is like the perfect commercial/big (no pun…no pun again) sounding hip hop album. LAD is the rap Thriller to me
I just like the way it flows better and I like the rhymes and creativity better. Even tho LAD sounds like a cinematic movie to me. shyt was perfectly mixed. There's cuts on that shyt Nas would NEVER get away with recording. Lol

Illmatic=IWW >>RTD>LAD.

All classics and I wouldn't be mad if anyone felt different.
Not gonna be able to do it.

LAD is one of hip hops greatest feats. Top 10 even. IWW I got top 20. RTD and Illmatic both the rapping and the sound is too unpolished to compete.

Your first mistake is listening to Quest on anything. Online cornball who been salty at Nas hoeing him face to face.

And I still feel IWW influenced Life After Death. The sequencing:

1. Album Intro- Life After Death Intro

2. Storytelling joint (IWW with "The Message) and Life After Death with "Somebody's Got To Die"

3. The first single- IWW with the sing songy "Street Dreams" interpolating the Eurythmics and Biggie with the sing songy "Hypnotize

4. The Premo joint: IWW had "I Gave You Power" and Life After Death had "Kick In The Door"

IWW doesn't have R. Kelly on the album, but R. Kelly is on the remix to "Street Dreams", which likely inspired "Sky's The Limit". Life After Death also has an R. Kelly feature.

IWW has "Live nikka Rap", which is produced by Havoc. Life After Death has "Last Day", which is also a grimey, Havoc produced collaboration.

Nas has Dr. Dre beat and vocals from Dre, which likely inspired the Too Short featured West Coast featured "The World Is Filled"

Songs like "Shootouts", "Suspect", and "Affirmative Action" influencing songs like "nikkas Bleed" and "What's Beef".
1. Biggie always did dem kinda intros, go revisit RTD
2. Story telling joints, lmao go revisit RTD
3. Dr Dre beat an vocals? Dre and Snoop influenced RTD, go revisit the album.

NO it didn’t but just like IWW, RTD influenced AEOM
RTD didn't influence AEOM at all what are u talking about? MATW came out before AEOM it would even make more sense if u said RTD influenced that even tho there's songs on RTD pulled right outta Pac's playbook like Everyday Struggle. AEOM was the first Hip Hop double album. Is it a coincidence Biggie decided to do it the next year over?

Yes it it, Just like it influenced Pac’s Prior projects. Pac heard some of Biggie’s shyt before his album dropped and ran around begging Kool Mo Bee for beats similiar to Biggie’s. God knows what other ideas he stole from Biggie.

I never said Illmatic influenced RTD musically. Stop being a goofy ass troll. But there's a such thing as Album cover. Which was a big deal back then when it came out. Plenty people felt it. Which is why Wu mentioned the shyt on OBFCL.

Remember how Pac Biggie's mentor and Biggie at one point even wanted him to manage him. Biggie was literally a part of Pac's group. Pac was the leader of said group.
