Get out of Nas ass lol

This where you and I differ. You clearly have set up a residency in Jay Z's to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if you're the reason Solange went all Liu Kang on Jay in that elevator and inspired Lemonade and 4:44. I don't think a colon cleansing would remove you at this point.

Nas has had blatant commercial singles on his albums since 2002, but only "Hero" and "Make The World Go Round" were officially released as singles.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Yo. Lupe Fiasco was basically damn near forced by the label to do Nothing On You and shyt came with the hook n everything. He wrote the verses and laid the vocals but in turn he decided not to do it because they said he wouldn’t get paid for it. They just recycled and gave the shyt to B.O.B and it was a huge record and not only did he not get paid for it. It ain’t like it took a special skill to receive it. To say having hit records is a skill is being disingenuous to all of the moving parts that piece together the puzzle. It DEFINITELY takes a good ear and feel for the music to make hits. But I wouldnt call that a “skill” perse. Atleast not in the realm of an actual physical skill like writing stories vividly. It’s too many variables when it comes to hit making. There’s the organic hits. There’s the label hits. There’s the payola hits. Viral hits. Etc etc. It’s also about if the people are used to hearing ur voice on the radio as well. For instance. I can use Drake as an example. Literally everything Drake puts out is a hit record. It doesn’t even matter how it sounds at this point. That doesn’t make him any more skillful than someone like a Jay Z. Whom he prolly has more hit record than at this point. And that’s because Drake is a machine. He has corporate interests. He’s a brand now. It’s the reason someone like Jidenna can make a song like Tribe or Sufi Woman it goes really nowhere but if Drizzy made either one of those ESPECIALLY Tribe that shyt woulda been outta here. Like if u copy and pasted Drake’s voice on Tribe that would’ve been an undeniable hit record. On the flip side. Drizzy got hit records that if someone else made it that shyt would go double wood.

Telling a story takes no skill

Formulating a detailed, elaborate, smart and informative story requires madd skill. Just cooking a steak doesn't require any skill either...but yours tastes like shyt and Nusret Gokce's tastes so good he can charge $300 a pop. Why?

You telling a story requires no skill...what about Stanley Kubrick's stories though?

Jay makes the most disposable hits. Most if not all of his singles since BP3 have either not stood the test of time (who the hell bumping Holy Grail, Family Feud, A Star is Born, Tom Ford, Picasso Baby, DOA or that shyt with Swizz in 2021 lol) or had the Kanye stimulus (crazy to say but Kanye has outshined Jay on a lot if not all the singles they were on together). His only real solo hit that has any longevity in the last decade is Story of OJ.

Nas may not chart as high but he flatout has more classic songs than Jay.

U talking amazing storytelling

king von tells stories that are as simple as can be

it takes amazing skill to craft and recognize a hit

It’s levels to both and Nas lacks the skill to make a hit. I don’t know how this is debatable

No he flat out doesn’t it’s not even close Nas arguably doesn’t have 20 records for a Verzuz

We already went through this past Nas hypothetical Verzuz threads against Jay, Pac, LL after God’s Son era y’all start naming b-sides, unreleased songs, reach with features or failed hit record attempts only Nas stans give a fukk about

What I'm saying is classics > hits.

Rare alone is better than every disposable Jay hit I mentioned in that post. :umad:

I'd like Family Feud more if Jay didn't come off like Beyonce has his nuts in a vase under their kitchen sink.

Ok no unreleased songs? Fine I'll play your game, LIG and KD I and II got Nas covered for the 10's and 20's. Only Jay album seeing those is 4:44, every thing else he's put out since AG has been a dub:smugdraper:
