I’m a much bigger Nas fan but no way he beats Jay in a Versuz. Jay got songs that my mama even knows. Only Nas song she might know is If I Ruled the World
:heh:
This.
I really think Coli Nas fans think that Nas's actual songs have more resonance with a general crowd than they really do.

75% of them songs have aged terribly
That doesn't mean they wouldn't get a miscellaneous crowd of people moving :gucci:
The point isn't to play the highest quality deep cuts of a specific artist.
Its to showcase a catalog and to show what would resonate with people.

Oh yeah 03 Bonnie and Clyde is what's gonna win this :mjlol:

OP had a bunch of Jay hits. That's what y'all are so hung up on, right? Jay's hits?
I don't know how to tell you this, but that song would get a crowd of 20-somethings, 30-somethings, or 40-somethings interested.

It Ain't Hard to Tell is one of the greatest rap songs of all time, but it isn't going to get a cross-over crowd rapping word-for-word. :unimpressed:

Depends on how a hypothetical Verzuz would play out between them I guess, I don't see Jay and Nas going the Lox vs Dip crowd route if it ever happened (which it won't). It would be in a remote studio like Snoop vs X more like. But no matter how much pop appeal that mid-ass song has it's not seeing a lot of Nas songs, I don't care how many broads in a crowd can sing the chorus.

Not to mention 03 Bonnie and Clyde song is inspired by a Pac song that's inspired by a Nas song. Jay copying Nas even when he doesn't know it lol.

act like show me what you got wasn't top 10 song brehs. shyt even on to the next one charted higher than anything nas did since bush was in office.

edit: holy grail was #4, not to mention WTT

Show Me What You Got was hot for like 1 week off the comeback hype. That shyt was about as legit as selling 1 million albums first week to Samsung. When we're talking Verzuz, Spicy alone kills all of that shyt.

Show me what u got is played to this day. Whether u like it or not.

That shyt was smoke and mirrors then and it's smoke and mirrors now. In terms of Verzuz the chart shyt doesn't even matter like that anyway. Guaranteed it would do nothing to the crowd. The song sucks, the hook is dumb, the lyrics are boring and the beat is far from Just Blaze's best. Kingdom Come was so trash he had to go back to the drawing board and come up with American Gangster. He had to call that shyt a soundtrack because he knew it would underperform without corny pop shyt. I'm not hating, it's just the truth. Black Album was the last album where he could put it together in terms of making hits and keeping it authentic. The albums that came after were low key on some Fat Joe shyt.

Nikka nobody wants to hear this shyt you get Fivio and A$AP Ferg on a record and can’t even do 10M views on the visual it was in the high 90’s of the Billboard 100 and fell off after a week

This is the delusional shyt y’all do

Jay wouldn’t play Show Me What You Got he doesn’t have to play that

The certifications and other industry bullshyt don't even matter like that when the song is about nothing. LOX got the crowd hype with dope ass freestyles. AG sold 425k, but Kingdom Come sold way more in comparison. Those post Kingdom Come joints are not fooling anyone. The best he has is The Story of OJ.

We're talking about that song because it's technically one of his highest charting songs since the 2000s. The song wasn't hitting like that though at the time, Snoop, Ludacris and Akon were murdering him that year. In 2006 Jay was again cheerleading for the dudes making the real big hits. And he was also second to the dudes making the real music. No one gave a fukk like that about a Kingdom Come:laff:

So you’re saying Roc Boys wouldn’t do shyt?

U saying Empire State of Mind isn’t a huge loved song especially by New Yorkers?

Any of the huge singles on Watch The Throne?

U saying people didn’t fukk with FWMYKIGI?

Spicy the flop is going to move the crowd tho :mjlol:

U may be right but Nas since 2002 ain’t fooling anyone dude only got 3 gold records and 2 of them to almost 25 years to reach gold lol

Nas don’t make records good enough for people to care about outside his fanbase

he don’t have that gear. A gear he tried dozens of times

Edit: and in regards to that Lox vs Dipset

Jada performance won not those freestyles. Majority of people never heard them

I fukk with all of the songs on American Gangster, that was the one solid thing he did since the Black Album. Empire State of Mind to me is an Alicia Keys song, could have been just as big with verses by Charles Hamilton. Watch The Throne was some molly music, I refuse to fukk with that shyt until this day. FWMYKIGI was wave hopping Jigga, that shyt had no real identity. That's why I said a lot of those newer albums were on some Fat Joe shyt because he couldn't decide what he wanted to sound like or who he wanted to be.
