Wouldn't say it was wack but it was definitely the wrong move at that point. If he had just left it at Takeover he woulda still took the L but I don't think it would have been as big coz Hot97 wouldn't have needed to get involved.

That was a wild time. The fact he survived that onslaught is kinda crazy when you think about it
only reason he survived is because he "retired"
lol great marketing plan
Fans were screaming "fukk jayZ" everywhere he went lol
so Jay just took da sympathy route (im taking my ball and going home lol)

TYRONE GA!
Anyone ever dig up the "UH OH!!!" response Jay dropped before Super Ugly?

I barely remember that shyt, Nas was making fun of him on the famous interview. "Who he think he is, Nelly?" Seem like Hov's PR team got it permanently scrubbed from the internet like the cut of You Owe Me where Beyonce rocking the QB chain

:russ:

That shyt was trash. Get dissed for biting and turn around and do it some mo :dead:

i dont think a lot of ppl realize that jay came up as a battle rapper. Up to that point, (in his mind atleast) he never loss a rap battle. The closest was his battle vs Dmx but he feels confident that he won that.

Jay idolized Nas's raps but didn't see him as a battle rapper. Even then, he waited until he thought Nas was washed up to fully go at him. Nas dissed him on the message and he wanted no smoke.

Nas was probably da last thing on Jay's mind that day lol that man was ready to turn up for his birthday and considered Nas dead already.

That was his version of 9/11. Completely caught off guard, gettin sonned on your birthday, and losing your first battle. He will never fully let that shyt go lol

Irv and Dame never liked eachother. lol. U could even see how Irv spoke on Dame on the movie Backstage. They both egomaniacs but fukk Irv tho.

Two artist managers that were technically managing the same artist and both ran the labels that were keeping Def Jam popping and both passive aggressively battling for the executive job that ended being given to.....the artist that they were technically managing.

Lots of behind the scenes politic to make sure that one label didn't get more than the other. They'll never be cool.

Jay’s Public Relations game is the best that we have ever seen from a rapper in the GOAT list. He has built his businessman image and campaigned for GOAT very deliberately. This is not up for debate nor is it very necessarily a bad thing because it worked in convincing the general public. It’s just corny to Dame, regardless of motivation, and I agree with him.

Take for example his Rock and Roll induction, he asked both Obama and Dave Chappelle to introduce him even though these are not music people nor is he that close with the. He just wanted to look important. It’s all image. Jay moves like a politician.

Damon was speaking about Jay wanting to be looked at as a business man. How has Jay campaigned about being the GOAT deliberately? When has Jay said out of his mouth he was the greatest rapper of all time or GOAT? Damon is the corny one for saying the dumb shyt he said on that interview

Jay has had a relationship with Obama since he became president so how do you know where their relationship stands? Obama has said My 1st Song got him through his presidency. Beyonce sang at his inauguration in 09 so that's about 14 years of friendship. There's nothing wrong with him inducting Jay in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame

Dave Chappelle I will give you as I don't know their relationship history

Whether it's true or not, why is Dame still talking about Jay. Like man, move on.
Because he gets asked the question.

When he was responding that he didn’t wanna talk about it and stop asking him about it, people complained about that too.

It would be different if Dame was going on IG Live every day to talk about Jay.

Come on dawg :russ:

You know Dame love the attention. He could simply say "Nah, that's off topic, next question"
