Atheism in the discussion of Religion/Spirituality is that of rejecting the concept of a Higher power.

That being said. I`m not an AA so lets stop speaking on Africa as if it is a monolithic continent. Speaking for my Ancestors I know what they practiced, and in that there has always been the concept of a "Supreme engineer". So that being said, best of luck to you and whatever you decide to believe, but once again Atheism and Religion are European concepts. If Atheism was an African concept the term Atheism would exist in African languages, but it doesnt instead we try to correlate things we see to fit the mold of what Atheism is. Majority of Black Atheist are not Atheist because they can prove a higher power doesnt exist, they are Atheist because they hate what Abrahamic religions did to black people. Atheist and Religious people are both going by faith as there is no scientific data that can prove or disprove something that existed before the concept of studying a "Science" existed. A smart man would say "I dont know if there is a higher power", but only a fool would try to be adamant in saying it is scientifically true that God doesnt exist. Atheistm is just a Smart Dumb way of trying to claim you have the answer to something you dont.

Religion as a euro concept? Without confirming, it sounds good. But only if we are not identifying ancient African deities as gods. More importantly knowing exactly how ancient people viewed them...gods, spiritual entities; held in reverence?...feared as natural force?... deceased ancestors? These of course predate all 3 Abrahamic pillars. I would give you the term "religion" and "atheist" are modern terms...but I know certainly that atheism is not derived as european concept. Ancient african...hell even the asian from whence the european people are derived chronologically...had atheistic constructs.

Lastly, Atheism is not a faith. Its not a way to claim to have the answer...its the ability to seek the answer. Religion is the concept that claims it has the answer breh.
