I know all of us make over 100k on here :troll:

But none of these jobs don't pay shyt these days, employers get away with it knowing we can't quit and find a job the next day like we use to be able to.

I've put in maybe 500 resumes in the past 3 months, even with all the experience I have (military, trade aka welding, management) all the offers I got were in the $9-12 an hr range. :mjlol: I worked for 10 an hr back in 2003, then I got a job paying me $15, and was making $24 in a union machine shop.

Employers get away with this entrapment and mental slavery, people are just stuck. I know people getting disability making more then most people who work, the system is set up for this. Companies are making record profits, by paying less and less for qualified people.

Lastly, if these fast food joints did indeed get the $15 an hr how many people would quit and work for buger king, popeyes.
Too fukking true, I have my certs, curriculum vitae and then some but the only reason I got a damn good entry-level position is because of my networking skills and who I know. shyt even my family put in a good word to the powers that be :umadcac:. But the bolded is a scary thing that one employer tried to pull on me, (big mistake but she obviously was successful on others with it). She tried to offer the breh 30 a year in fukking D.C. for management consulting :mjlol: To make her position even more :flabbynsick: I reminded her that prior to graduating from college (Rutgers, New Brunswick) I was earning more as an intern at her firm! Man I was so happy and lucky that I wasn't in a position where I didn't have options so while I can't emphasize, I recognize the problem.

I got offered a job when I first moved out to Cali for $18/hr with no benefits working for a Boeing contractor. I told the HR lady :heh:I just left a job making 70k with benefits...I know my worth. I held out for a few more months...and got a great job making pretty good $.

Its just like a trap, getting even a interview now is a huge thing.Getting a job offer is another huge thing, but they hit you with some low ass random number, its like take it and tough it out and hopefully find something better while employed, or don't take it and make 0 money, something is better than nothing people say :mjlol:.

And lets speak on these interviews now, they call them "recruitment sessions" which is a huge ass red flag. Like im gonna sit all day at some hotel, to be auctioned off like im a slave. Its like you got my resume and you wouldn't have even considered me if you didn't see something you liked or if I didn't meet the requirements. You like what you see call me and make a job offer if not keep the shyt moving.

Out here in my damn drawls
:dahell:All you smart-dumb coli nikkas arguing against raising the minimum wage need to study the basics of macroeconomics. When adjusted for inflation, the avg person makes less than they did 30 yrs ago. Our economy is built on mass consumption....how many cars will a ceo getting paid 30 million buy a year? maybe 2. how many cars will 1,000 people buy a year if they are paid 30,000/yr? maybe 2000.

Raising the minimum wage will increase consumption, essentially the extra money paid out will come right back.I think most of you arguing against minimum wage probably make 15/hr and dont want to think that someone at a fast food joint should be paid the same they do for answering phones. Nonsense.

Can you blame them? Those phone answerers got college loans because the workforce required them to get a degree. Misdirected anger / resentment, yes, but it's understandable when students have been told, " Go to school or end up broke and flipping burgers" only to potentially end up making the same wage :patrice:

Instead of bytching about what minimum wage workers SHOULD be making, how about you nikkas quit thumbing your nose down at them and demand pay be raised across the board.

Nah, that's to much like right.

And that's what I like/agree about this strike. There's people with years of experience, schooling, getting shyt wages. If fukking fast food employees can do it, everybody who feels they aren't making a fair wage should jump in. its not just about fast food workers, its about corporate screwing over whoever the fukk they can. its a shame it took the people who push buttons on a register to say something. Some of these people have gotten none to minimum raises, yeah $15 seems a little out there, but a middle ground will be better than making below poverty level

But at the same time, it seems fast food is not the best place to advance, move up in the company. So these people should have tried something else
