I think all the fake hardwood gangstas and the AND-1 generation had people fooled or at least in the late 90’s/early 00’s it seemed to be an influx of players from the inner city.
I don’t think it was ever majority tho and the best players in the 80’s and 90’s like Jordan, Pippen, Bird, Barkley, Hill, D-Rob all came from rural and suburban environments.
It’s still a good amount of guys from the inner city tho.
Suburbs is the new hoodWe are seeing the effects of black people moving out the city to the suburbs in real time
Lol at juice box nikkazThese new n1ggaz are a bunch of beige half breeds growing up on juice boxes, 2 parent households and private coaching from ex nba players.

Lol at juice box nikkaz
But lmao at penalizing a cat for having both parents in the house . What in the fukk![]()

Guys still coming in from the hood but the difference is now as soon as they start flashing league potential, they get scooped up by these prep schools, private schools and academies. The days of the superstar prospect playing 4 years for the inner city public high school are damn near over.
true most of these NBA players got their kids playing basketball.
just look at lebron, shaq, wade, melo etc
Yep. I just saw the other day that Carlos Boozer’s twin sons are the top ranked freshmen in the nation and already got offered from Duke
ThisLmao y'all describing Kobe to a T
Last I checked, Kobe was a suburban former nba player's son. Kobe's uncle played in the league as well . if you are well versed in Kobe's story, then u know Jelly Bean played a huge role in helping his son get prepared for the league with resources, connects, workouts... Also as a 17/18 year old entering the draft, Kobe spent half his life in Italy.
All I care about is if these dudes is nice. I dont give a fukk if they're from Mars, are their Zip code belongs to a plush neighborhood in the clouds...

That's incredibly low when you really think about it. NBA might actually be the most elitist collective sports league when you take into account the actual number of people who get in.
It’s co-ops and a major commercial business areaI’m not that familiar with the outer boroughs, especially that far out…but it is a housing project, no? I’m sure there’s a lot worse, more crime-ridden, more impoverished projects in NYC, but it’s still the projects.
