They’ve groomed these players and have basically taken the league with them like a Trojan horse. The first sign was how bad Adam silver was trying to force the older nikkas out the league and replace them with worse players, it wasn’t just Melo they tried to force a premature end to all them nikkas not named LeBron. In 10 years this sport will be completely gentrified

If you have to ask then you are completely naive. This shyt is a multi billion dollar business and half the owners in the league do not care about winning they care about money. This is a long term play for control and they’ve already done it to nikkas in every other medium, most recently baseball and rap. They don’t want some hood nikka running his mouth about black lives and becoming billionaires they want stars that are as marketable to white America as possible

I know basketball has gotten more expensive but I'm not sure if there ever really was a time when an overwhelming amount of players came from the trenches (post segregation at least). I mean MJ, Magic and Kareem weren't rich but they were all raised in stable two-parent lower middle class to middle class households.

There're were a number of guys who grew up in the shyt but we still have that with guys like Butler and Demar. And nowadays because of the international scene we have players who literally grew up in trenches like Jokic and Ibaka.

And it goes without saying that coming up in the hood doesn't automatically make you tougher, especially in basketball. MJ and Kobe alone should make it obvious that grit can come from anywhere.
