Lmao y'all describing Kobe to a T
Last I checked, Kobe was a suburban former nba player's son. Kobe's uncle played in the league as well . if you are well versed in Kobe's story, then u know Jelly Bean played a huge role in helping his son get prepared for the league with resources, connects, workouts... Also as a 17/18 year old entering the draft, Kobe spent half his life in Italy.

All I care about is if these dudes is nice. I dont give a fukk if they're from Mars, are their Zip code belongs to a plush neighborhood in the clouds...
Kobe also used to go down Temple in North Philly and regularly run with Philly buls, and Eddie Jones, Aaron Mckie, Rick Brunson and them. His Uncle also taught in North Philly, and his cousin was one of Philly's best at that time. His game is all Philly.

A lotta greats came from blue collar households.

There's no "formula".

And even the good hood dudes get spotted and noticed young and placed in these prep schools/academies/private schools. How many of the top players even play in Public School.

Look at this shyt.

All academies, the "blank" school, etc.
Exactly, so even that is resources hoarding. You’re competing for a chance to survive from day 1. This is just like academics and everything else.

hood kids still play on AAU teams. just because they not in the hood doesn't mean they're not hood. it's moreso a mindset, their location just changed because they're getting more opportunities.

but like I said, the hood hero y'all keep praising in Lebron is directly tied to the buddy buddy system not the suburban kids
Who kept praising a hood hero in LeBron? We just showed how ridiculous your point was and you keep trying to divert the conversation. You. “don’t care” largely because you’re not American and don’t care about our politics or society and it’s probably too close to home.

Putting all that aside, LeBron literally played 7 years in Cleveland the first time - that’s more time than most people last in the NBA and more years than most NBA legends has being elite. Second, Bron wasn’t looking to get traded like 2 years into his career like these other guys. And last, your Curry point is ridiculous because he literally took a back seat to Kevin Durant joining his team. You’re pointing out that AAU you killed that energy and not drawing the correlation to how that is tied to money and opportunities and that the vast majority of people on those teams come from upper middle class backgrounds.

Man today I was listening to the JJ Reddikk podcast and Kendrick Perkins was talking about how age 15 Bron had to go after tournaments to media training. They were both part of the AAU circuit.

Who would say was or is the best hood hooper ? If not Melo who told them people don’t snitch
I mean, I don’t know. It’s not something I look for.

The idea of black people prospering and not in agnoy even in our enclaves makes some folk sick. You would think that our people would look at suburban areas that are majority black whether they be in the Midwest, East Coast or Down South and go "that's what I want" or "it IS possible". But instead we get cornball ass dudes who was scared to be out after 11 on a weekend talking about how being from the burbs is a bad thing. I grew up in a rough area, and I wanted nothing more than peace. Anybody who gotta problem with black folks from the suburbs is a motherfukking uncle tom of the highest order and need they ass beat. Enough is enough. Motherfukkers really want OTHER BLACK PEOPLE to be miserable for an aesthetic. GTFO
No one in here has said any of this. Somehow you turned people talking about opportunities for poor folks into their own self-consciousness about how black people perceive them. Everyone in here is college educated and isn’t across the street from a crackhouse. Stop the projecting. Like I said before, this is why shyt doesn’t get done. People are too busy trying to one up the next man and get in a position to look down on him than trying to remove social barriers. What an idiotic post. This rookie class of posters is mentally ill. I’m sorry the hood kids thought you were a lame bro, but we’re talking socioeconomics.

Why does suburbs automatically mean white to some of y’all?

There are tons of majority black suburbs in America. And why do some black folks equate to not struggling mean you aren’t really black.

These days suburbs could be more of a “trench” than big cities with gentrification.
Agreed, and alot of these dudes aren't poor nor rich but the trenches in Philly is different from the trenches in Ohio, these cats come from the latter usually.

OP acting like dudes wanna be raised up in the hood ducking shots all night.

Music is the same way. Kids getting super laptops for their DAW, throwing money at placements and online to pay for collabs.

Basically, folks with the money/resources are entering fields that were built and innovated off folks with fewer resources and using revenue as a means to get in.

shyt that is irritating is these suburbian cats keep pushing and glorifying inner-city violence. They even act straight up entitled and make fun of the struggle, in music that was built off and for the struggle.

you're being disingenuous which everyone can see. lebron gets criticized by everyone from former players to analysts in his role in how the NBA turned into a buddy system but yea let's pretend he didn't.

bu bu but he's from the hood and has that dog in them. it's the suburban kids who are to blame. mentioning steph curry as if he didn't follow the lebron path to creating superteams.
