According to people at EA Play, the game is smooth as hell. Anyone that actually played 18 shouldn't be surprised that they're knocking on the door. Supposedly technicals and flagrants are in also.

Will definitely be copping live this year. 
I'm noticing that they're focusing more on the street ball/park aspect more than the NBA one though.

Yes they are. The dunk animations and collisions are from last gen and were in Live 10. They haven't refined their physics engine and will not adopt Frostbite because the numbers won't justify it.
Why are y'all acting like Live isn't an EA game?
I really liked the demo and was the closest I’ve been since 2010 to going with live over 2k. Definitely not getting 2k this year will probably give this a go. The One mode was actually fun to me

playing in real parks and gyms with different challenges vs spending money on VC to upgrade and that wack ass story mode
