why dont we just reserve judgement til the season actually starts

because they tried this before a couple of years ago haphazardly. After 2 weeks, the refs just said fukk it and didn't care to single out those calls.

Another thing is what will they decide is flopping. is lebron running into Tyson chandlers screen a flop? Some of the floppers will just make more exaggerated make their motions more ridiculous then to pretend they hurt

for all you super nervous people, I'm pretty sure that the refs will not be making these judgments, but they'll be handed down after the games. That's the only way for this to work.

Not with retroactive fines, but it was a mandate to crack down on it by calling it more, but then players started complaining that there were too many foul calls, period and that the refs wouldn't let them play and then they backed off.

I like it. The effect my be noticed until after a few flops accumulate on some of the people. The key is to have it in the back of player's minds that they can't act to crazy with the flopping.

Let me make it clearer professor . What will they decide constitutes flopping ? Will Something like lebron running into a screen and acting like hes shot be factored in ? How can you judge if he's hurt or not

1st violation: Warning
2nd violation: $5K
3rd violation: $10K
4th violation: $15K
5th violation: 30K

Subsequent violations will come with a bigger fine and/or suspension.

Why do yall keep framing it as just a $30K fine?

The first fine is 5k, then the next fine is an additional 10k, and so on and so on....So if a player gets their 5th fine they've actually paid $60K in fines for flopping.
